This reminds me! This morning I was taking the bus to work (Cossie being broken at the time), and bus sounded like it had a dump valve! Weird shit.

diesel engines dont have trottle valve... so it wouldn't work...

Go to ebay and type Diesel dump valve you should be able to find a kit for a diesel

Mk3 4 and 5 Transits have throttle flaps.
It can be done, as long as the van is turbo. You may need to fit an electronic valve and switch to the throttle if the throttle flap has had the butterfly removed...
