Default erst help please

hello peeps, wonderin if anyone has any ideas as to my problem.

first the spec of my engine is as follows, ported polished head with kent fast road cam, t3 hybrid altho not sure of exact spec of turbo, fully lightened and balanced bottom end, knife edge crank, mahle low comp pistons, believe cr is 7.8:1, superchip. ecu is new, turbo is new, bottom end has been rebuilt by harvey gibbs sachs race clutch. thats all can think of tunning wise.

anyway running 17psi i made 203 bhp and 203 lb/ft torque at jamsport but my problem is when its making the power, all of it after 4000rpm at 3800rpm im just about making 105-110bhp

having looked at other rst power graphs they seem to make double my power at 3500rpm but y? can anyone suggest a reason y mine may well be so slow to gain any power. ive also been told i should be making more power with the engine i have.

it is in the back of a 106 running with a chargecooler and charge temps r consistantly in 20's even on hot day, providing not in traffic

any ideas would be gratefully appreciated

cheers

Fast cams, low compression ration and large exhaust housings usually push the power further to higher revs providing less power low down. Also if you still have a 1.6 liter engine that doesn't help either. BTW, do you still use the Åmål-valve? That could have an effect.

thanks for that. but i mean really big time lacking power, ive seen other cars with similair mods and they pic up at 2500 and go sky high, was in fast ford or another ford mag at a rr shootout

here's a few figs from my rr graph

1500rpm = 25 bhp 80lb/ft
2300rpm = 40 bhp 96lb/ft
3072rpm = 65 bhp 108lb/ft
3840rpm = 108bhp 152lb/ft
4608rpm = 180bhp 203lb/ft
5376rpm = 203bhp 196lb/ft

surely i should be making more power than this at lower rpm?

think thats my reason not getting good sqm times, look how the power goes up so steadily 15bhp each 7-800 rpm then 40 bhp increase up to 3840 then next 800 rpm i get 72bhp!!

could there b a problem with something within my car? just comparing to other similair and lesser spec cars and the power i aint making!!

what is the amal valve? im not mechanically minded, i just own the car!!

thanx for the help so far, more would obviously be appreciated

Åmål-valve is an electrically controlled air valve to regulate boost. It either connects the actuator to the compressor or the air-box.

take the 2 pipes off that go to the compressor and the actuator and link them together.

Now link the remaining 2 pipes that are unused on the amal valve together with a short length of hose.

As for the lack of low end torque, what spec is the turbo?
Its not a .48 turbine housing is it?

Hello Adam, how are ya mate...long time no see.

i agree with whats been said above concerning the amal valve.

also if its a big turbo then your gonna have lots of lag...as i don't know the spec of the turbo i cannot comment
