before i bolt it up to the bulkhead do i just half the no of lock to lock turns so its in the middle roughly & then bolt it to the column???
never fitted 1 before,,

(i know tracking will need doing after ect)

I have a Quaife quick rack for my ERST to fit, so interested in this post ^^^^^^

Just bolt it to the subframe, connect the track rod ends to the hubs , adjust both track rods so it looks like both wheels are straight and then connect the steering coupling. The steering wheel will no doubt be off centre but that can be sorted when you get the tracking done
