I have a big turbo escort and want to do a 330 conversion. Trouble is i live in Ireland and 97 octane isn't available over here only 95. Some say it can be mapped to run it and others say i'll burn the pistons out of it. Any answers anyone ?

I had this problem when I took my stage 3 Cossie to Ireland on holiday, I took some octane booster with me to add to the lower octane fuel you have over there. Personally I dont think stage 3 is wise on 95 octane.

i drove a stage 3 on dark greens on 95 ron with NO problems at all! and it made 352 bhp on the rollers!

 

Alvyn, How long were you running a stage 3 on 95octane, What kind of milage did you do on it ?

 

5yrs and about 35000+ miles and it's STILL going 2day

 

That sounds mint If i tought i couldn't get more than 250 brake i'd sell it. 200 is fook all these days, You'd get that out of a dihatsu charade !!

 

Aldon octane booster or visit your local airstrip and buy some nice avgas.

 

mines running 385 on 95 would have thought it would be ok as long as its mapped on 95

 

correct if mapped on 95 ron every thing should b fine
