bedding in new engine... what oil????

Default bedding in new engine... what oil????

what oil would it be best to use starting from fresh with new engine.. will be changing it very regular so don't want to spend a fortune wasting good oil....

2wd cossie. was told to get a cheaper oil. something a bit gloopy.

when i ran my brand new zvh engine in was told to put the cheapest oil in which was Ł4.20 from local motor factors

Asda - 20/50 for Ł3.74

been running my 200sx on it for months, well, i gotta put about 5L of oil in every 200 miles

yeah cheap oils good cause you actually want to help the bedding in of the engine, maybe a cheap semi synthetic?

No - stick with a mineral oil

Cheapo toss pot oil for first 20mile, then drop the oil and change the filter (most of your engine bed in happens around the first 20mile ie piston ring bed-in) then run on a half decent mineral oil, one of Fords if your passionate lol, with a new filter then after 500 mile change to a good quality synthetic oil, again with a new filter.....job done
