-31 and -34 actuators, what's the real difference?

so to run 22psi held. is a -31 or a -34 a better Actuator, as this is confusing LOL

I read it as being a -34 is better for high boost (over 15psi) applications

i did read it stu, but to me it reads that you can bleed off 10psi and set the -31 to 10psi, which by your essay looks like it cant be done because the -31 can only to 8psi?

i dont know why tho, i was running 36psi on my t34, and never broke a rod or actuator in over 60k miles
infact the same actuator is now on my t4...
has he jetted the amal?

The T34 has a harmonic frequency problem on many YB's that cause it to sheer the shaft clean in two just where the locknut locks up the adjustable rod end.
This is why Garret redesigned the rod end for the T34 and made a much longer one. Ive no idea why it doesnt afflict all engines.

So right let me get this straight.
Another newb here so be gentle.
My escort RS turbo make's 19psi but the atuator is stock looking i know they do stock looking -31's but would i need a -34?

If your wanting to hold 19psi then you could use a -31 preload set to 10psi and bleed 9psi off, or you could use a -34 preload at 15psi and bleed off 4psi.
Or there abouts!
