I read it as being a -34 is better for high boost (over 15psi) applications

i did read it stu, but to me it reads that you can bleed off 10psi and set the -31 to 10psi, which by your essay looks like it cant be done because the -31 can only to 8psi?

So we load the -31 to say.. 10, and we bleed 10psi off via amal or bleed control, so the actuator ONLY gets to see 10psi.

When you say you load the -31, in what way do you mean? sorry to sound stupid, double checking somthing(thinking preload)

The T34 has a harmonic frequency problem on many YB's that cause it to sheer the shaft clean in two just where the locknut locks up the adjustable rod end.

This is why Garret redesigned the rod end for the T34 and made a much longer one. Ive no idea why it doesnt afflict all engines.

If your wanting to hold 19psi then you could use a -31 preload set to 10psi and bleed 9psi off, or you could use a -34 preload at 15psi and bleed off 4psi.
Or there abouts!
