Read this from start to finish last night. Took a while! It's brilliant to watch the evolution of the vehicle, and the effort (and expense!) Invested in it. Im also deeply envious of Mr Shacks garage!

Thank You....it has been quite a journey! I cannot wait to drive it again and I am excited to see what it will be like.
Love the look of that some nice hockenhiem style split rims with black centres be a nice look for the road
Sadly I cannot run any dish on my car as the Cossie 4wd is much wider than a standard 205 and even with my T16 body kit I have to run Et 25 just to keep the tyre within the arch.
Any idea when you will be getting the shell back home to do the refit of all the bits?
I am very much hoping to be able to complete the dry build in August and then strip down for the paint, that shouldn't take too long and then back for final build. I will have to get the new engine mapped so that may take place before or after paint.
There is still a lot to do and we seem to keep adding little design touches / ideas like the new style tubular, lightweight, version of the front WRC cradle in T45 and then chassis mount the engine.
Tranny tunnel with rubber inner tube covering gear selector hole.
Tranny Tunnel - soon to be trimmed in 205 Gti red carpet....anyone know a good trimmer for this local to Hampshire / Surrey? That is NOT rust on the floor it is the old carpet glue. So far I have not found any rust at all but with 35,000 miles on clock I imagine this has spent a lot of time in garages being cared for, unlike many 205's. I have 1.9 gti on K 1992 and I had to weld a lot of that before the Gti6 engine went in.
Stablemate soon to be for sale, Mint 84 Carrera 3.2 Ł18k, pm if interested.
I spoke to Matthew Walker (Marks son) who has spent all week welding up the little holes in the shell from numerous sound off builds and he has dressed in the strut towers and is tieing in the cage to them...Matthew has come back from spannering on Hickmans bike at the TT so high on the wins and record.
Im hoping mine will be ready about then as well or sooner. I think mine has been there for about 8-9 months now seems like a life time, but I suppose you can't rush these things. I need to call and speak to Mark Shead at some point in the near future as I want to take my engine to him as well, but I am hoping to get it back for the 1st weekend in August at the latest as this is the only time I am free that month.
