Default sierrasrus Bumper brackets

I had a minor accident reversing off a drive and went over a kerb which caught my 2wd Saff front bumper rubber splitter and ripped the bumper off. Both sides of the original Ford plastic fittings at the top inside the bumper were smashed off and not able to be repaired.
I bought a pair of stainless steel replacement fixing brackets from sierrasrus in Worsley Salford, Lancashire and would like to congratulate them on the superb quality and fit and they have been the perfect solution to re-fit my front bumper. They come with everything you need and all you have to do is drill out the old rivets holding in the original Ford plastic ones and after carefully prising out the black bumper mouldings, rivet the new stainless ones in which are pre drilled to line up where the old rivets were and job done. They have 2 small brackets with captive threads in them at the top and you simply bolt them on at each side where the old funny shaped black plastic fittings were and the bumper is now more secure than its ever been.
So nice to get a product which has been carefully made to do the job with no hassle.
I would have no hesitation in saying to anyone that has a fixing problem with a Saff front bumper to buy these as you will be very pleased with the end result.
Thanks also to Tremona Garage for helping me out and making sure my car is ready for Simply Ford at Beaulieu on the 30th of April.

Sounds good. Have been looking at these for a while now. Do they help with the centre sagging any bit at all? Can't see how else to straighten it apart from putting a steel plate underneath it or summit like that. Anyway glad they're a good fit and another job done

Philip.

They are great for the money, no they don't help with the centre sagging. You'll need to heat the bumper up till it's softer and flexible and pack it till the gap is even on the centre and let it cool down.

Any pics or a procedure on one being done? I wouldn't be doing it myself I would say but would be handy to tell the panel beater or whoever.....thanks mate.

Would this work with rear bumpers too. Mine is a bit saggy and i hate the look of it. Once they are back in place do they not sag again??.

What I liked was they fitted so well and unlike other things I have bought which needed a lot of modification these were spot on.

Good info to know, sounds like you got off lucky with having no bumper damage.
Any pics of the car now?
I'm presently searching for rear bumper brackets after getting my car painted and losing the old ones, years ago it was impossible to get the front ones now it's the other way around!

When I had a problem with my rear bumper brackets i bought a rough one and drilled out the original Ford plastic ones which were not broken like mine and had them plastic welded into my rear bumper and it fixed the problem.

Bumper back on and looking spot on!

Very firmly held on now thanks to the new brackets.

Repaired rear bumper also looks spot on and very firm fit.

Just received mine in the post yesterday. Very good quality. Looking forward to fitting them soon after etch priming and spraying them.

I left mine with the stainless steel finish as they cant rust and are not visible once the bumper goes back on.

Just fitted mine this afternoon.
Gave them a quick blast with primer and paint.
Piece of P**s to fit and the bumper looks loads better than on the crap plastic ones.

Didn't realise till I went to put the bumper on they go directly to the panel not the plastic cups which is even better

They are designed to make fitting as easy as possible and as you found you dont need the funny shaped black plastic bits either. Makes you wonder why Ford didnt do them as standard. No comparison is there?

Took 45 mins to get my bumper off with the old set-up as the O/S bolt nut had began to spin. Had to drill the rivets all out to in the end

Fitted these brackets to my car a few years ago and agree, very well made and easy to fit. The only negative I see is that in a minor collision situation such as the first post, where the bumper brackets would have broken and the bumper fall off (which can often be plastic welded back on) now the bumper is firmly attached to the car and causes more damage. Ford made them from plastic so the bumper breaks away from bodywork in a collision

The plastic ones certainly make the bumper break away easily as I found out but how often do people need that to happen? As a long term solution for a strong fit, ease of fitting and removal the metal replacements are perfect.

Just go on to their E-Bay listing and the bumper brackets are on page 2 at £64.99.
