I have the best solution - as drag racing is the most boring motorsport in the world, why not just forget about it
. You will never break another gearbox again
.

So so so true!
Are you taking yours to FordFair Mike or just the TangoMachine?

Both would be nice (Jim says a big fat no though, but I only listen to the organ grinder, not the monkey
), but practically just the orange shed.

Good news today.
The new box is being assembled and tested tomorrow.
Also have a new mount to test from VibraTechnics and fitting the new power steering set up.
Looking forward to having a play again.

Citroen Saxo power steering pump mounted on custom alloy bracket. This will be married up with the Fiesta RS1800 power rack. Will give it a little spruce up and then mount in posisition.
VibraTechnic have also made a replacment engine mount for the R1800 Fiesta as before only the standard Ford mount was available.
Lovely piece of kit and far stiffer than standard.

Stranger returns, not touched the car in months and the new box is still to be fitted so is currently collecting dust.
Car is covered up for the winter but will be dragged out of hiding early next month to have a few mods sorted ready for use in 2012.
I also just received a new steering wheel for the car as the older 350mm wheel was a little too big for my liking and felt like i was steering a bus in a small Fiesta cockpit.
Went for a slightly deeper dish also to bring the wheel forward a little as I recently moved the seat back as far as possible. Really nice posistion now.
New steering wheel below - 330mm with 90 dish suede leather
The buzz is slowly coming back to start tinkering/driving the car again.

Hello Martins,
thankyou kindly, I am using the Focus gearbox from a st170 ( 6 speed Getrax )
I have then had Elite Racing transmissions manufacture a straight cut dog gear kit with longer ratios.
