Almost there now with the fabrication of the external waste gate.
This should be sorted by the weekend where I will then empty the engine bay of all parts. Firstly though moving the rad/intercooler foward as the rad fans are fairly close to the new equal length manifold.

Next on the list then is to make all the brake lines and trim the chassis back, bottom pulley is really close now with the dry sump kit..

Hoping to have the engine built up and back in before crimbo. As still loads to get done for Feb
Well get your finger out and get the car finished. Will it be done for central day then?

Received a text from Jim@JKM tonight and the external wastegate is all fabricated now!

Will be having a closer look tomorrow when I head down there. Then its time for me to remove the engine and empty the bay ready for some other mods to be carried out.

Just what i was thinking. Wont there be an heat soak issues running so close to the comp. housing and cooler-TB pipe? Zircotec coating would sort it but its bloody expensive.

Looks proper hardcore regardless.

Looking good, the only thing I never understand is why people do not use a flexi pipe on the pipe from the wastegate back into the downpipe ? My Audi ran one as standard

As tidy as it looks to me that just looks like a weak spot, its certainly a hell of a different car to the original build though !

Never thought about the use of a flexi, as surely all the metal will expand and put added stresses in certain areas. The use of a flexi and a sort of brace would probably reduce chances of cracks and fractures

we never have any problems with cracking or anything with our external w.gate set ups without flexi's in

might be a good idea to get some sorta heat sheilding inbetween the wastegate, them wastegates are glowing !

Zircotec maybe well involved and some heat sheilding.

The turbo hanger is man enough to stop any cracking as on the last manifold there were no issues. The wastegate setup as below in more detailed pictures shows the slip joint. This will therfore allow the W.G to slip n slide

Im all yours next Saturday BigBoy

UPDATE

After 10 mins the front end was off.

Then within half hour we had one naked trolley engine bay

All moving along nicely now, this weeks task is front brake brackets and plumb in the new brake pedal box.

Thank you mate, I am holding back on fitting those door trims as I dont want them to get to ruined while the car is still in the build process. Next 4 weeks and they will be fitted.

As for the wings Il send those arches to you this week
