Default cvh supercharged

hi guys...
i have an xr2, f-plate, silva. and ive thrown the engine away and put in its place a sierra 1.8cvh... with a few parts from other cvh's lightened/balanced/1mmbore out/ported/skimmed/race exhuast. works really well, very torquey over square engine. BUT i want more torque. water injection is an idea i can settle with but i want to focus my efforts towards a supercharger. thing is i own a blower, no ordinary blower. i built it myself and its from an airoplane . its used to pressurize the cabin at altitude. this thing is about the size of the cvh head itself, but not quite as long with radial heat sinks round it (to be put where the battery goes) but i'm convinced that if i make it drive at the right speed it will develop the correct positive airflow. my plan is to make something totally unique and to sound like nothing else anyone's heard.
thoughts and ideas are very welcome
does anyone know of a place or a person that can help me with this conversion?
many thanks chaps!

sounds like u will need the engines power just to run the blower!!!ive seen a leaf blower used a super charger so ne thing should work
i dout it will be cheap tho,why not go the turbo route?i know its not wht ya want, but best power for the dolla!

Default super'd cvh

i know the turbo route is well proven and just about every one of my mates has laughed at me for this idea and said f*** that man, turbo it. thing is almost everyone that wants a modified fast car ends up having a turbo. all the lads around the place are driving around going wwaaaahhm tsshhh. thats not what i want, its common. i want people to look at my car and think - it shouldnt go that fast, what the hell's been done to it?
anyway i like the wolf in sheeps clothing approach. when this project's finished it'll look totally standard with subtle mods like strut brace and better shocks etc but it wont sound like a sheep.
i already have most of what i need for the conversion, its just a case of putting it all together and making it work for real.

the parts ive got are...
supercharger
the pulleys to go from crank to driveshaft (various different size multivee pulleys)
drive core converter for the supercharger (chaw'ed from work)
bearings to be used on the driveshaft (aircraft ones)
the drive belt. (just a multivee belt really)
the belt tensioner (as the supercharger will be independantly mounted from the engine)
various bore hoses
carburettor plenum (made it myself)

but.. the bits i dont have are
- a blow off valve. i want a valve that opens and closes electronically and is capable of flowing a good amount of air. this is so that when the thrttle is in idle position it will operate a switch to open the valve. YA DONT WANT BOOST AT IDLE SPEED DO YA!
- bearing housings and suitable mounting plates. i can get these made or do some of it myself
- most importantly a driveshaft. i can gat a friend at work to make one for me on a lathe
but its these parts that are holding me back or it would be done already and i could give you guys something to look at. as yet i dont have pics but i'll be sure to take some of the bits and my car. i got some of the engine build in progress but i'm 300miles from home at the moment so it'll be wednesday.
take care everyone. happy tuning
PS i might introduce a bit of ganja smoke induction just to chill it out when im not bootin it.

no dude i got i wrong this is a build thread mate you just put pics of what youve done to your car and tell us what headaches youve had with it and things. by build i mean restorations, rebuilds and projects. just put some pics up of the car. and parts. i had an xr2 theyre good fun arn't they. but sold it because i couldnt put the mega mega mega special enigne in i had lined up for it because it wasnt physically possible.

ah, got ya now! cheers
i cant provide pics at the mo, they will be here though.
yeah they're good little pocket rockets but i dont think theyre designed for more than 150hp, theyre just not built for it i dont think. which is why i want to push the boundaries and have some dangerous fun. not that i drive dangerously of course!
i reckon in a few years i could see myself in a capri, or a crappy if ya like. some of em look real nice and they got tuning potential.
i want RWD really, it just feels more responsive than FWD.
big up yu an ya cru!

you won't need a valve to divert boost at idle, every car running one has some minor boost at idle but it is so small you don't have to worry about it.

you should try contacting some of the vw tuners as they do alot of work with superchargers, may be able to give you some advice or something. having owned supercharged cars myself they are great! the sound is unreal and torque and loww rev pick up is amazing, its just on the top end they lose out.

I would get hold of a copy of 'Supercharged: Design,Testing and Installation of Supercharger Systems' by Corky Bell, its a superb book and details just about everything you'll need to know to supercharge your engine.

what aircraft is the charger off?as the ones i work on use a compressor more in keeping with a turbo to do the same job,is it a piston aircraft?

Default the blower

this blower is off a DART engine, a TURBOPROP i believe, not a piston jobbie. driven off an auxillary gearbox on the engine, it blows from atmosphere to the cabin via filters. used on HS125's, HERALD's and i think... VISCOUNT's... oldskool! i have done a few calculations and i reckon when the engines flat out at 6.5k or 7k the charger will only be revving at 4.5k due to its physical size. i hope that by driving it at low speed like this will create low drag on the crank but still get boost. its designed to flow 750CFM at 10000rpm, obviously this is just not appropriate for the cvh design, hence lower drive speed. why does mild boost not matter at idle speed? wont it run lean? only thing is... does anyone know if i'll have to re jet for this?
