Lot of arguments over what CGI stands for - everyone says Carbon Graphite Impregnated...
However - thinking back to the limited metallurgy i've studied i'm sure Colloidal Graphite Iron seems possible - either which way - people have popped blocks at the high 4's to mid 5's so i figured it was another safeguard...

CGI. Compacted graphite iron from my research. 
Although Compacted Graphite Iron (CGI) has been known to metallurgists for many years, it has only recently become interesting to the automotive manufacturers. Used for the manufacture of engine blocks and heads, compared with traditional grey cast iron it offers advantages such as more power and longer intervals between maintenance, reduced weight, less pollution and diminished noise. However, it also presents a complete change to the manufacturing processes applied, since significantly different tools are required for this material.

I've found that life I needed.. It's HERE!!
With regards to the oil squirt jets under the piston's double check the clearance from piston to jet as at high revs my old engine just about clipped a standard jet and luckily only ended up in the sump with no effect.
ended up using modified jet nozzles from another engine, which were slightly shorter
also the CGI block's are incredibly hard to machine unless you use the correct grade and geometry of tip specially developed by Ford when we were machingng these from rough.

Good news and bad news...
Bad news is - still no sign of the shell
Even more bad news - don't think i'll be able to run the EGT/Lambda setup as i'd wanted to due to a distinct lack of space
Good news:
Mock build....
Rest of the rods and pistons in and ARP kit fitted:
WRC water pump and billet geared oil pump fitted:
Thermostat housing fouled on the engine stand but looks like i'll have to heatshield it...
Plenum side:
Exhaust side:
Couple of shots as i left it:
The problem of sensor angles and space:
Oh and i have a large package
Pics tomorrow people - i'm off out now for a few drinks

Cheers dude - the manifold is causing me issues and dramas at the moment...
There's a good chance i won't be able to run all the lambda & EGT stuff where its positioned at the moment - so now i get into the question of whether to relocate it or remove it...
Managed to get a bit more done today. Modified the standard ST170 coilpack bracket to take the MSD Ignition coilpack and it looks factory which has cheered me up
Cracked on with the wiring loom which hopefully will make Ryan a happy man lol.
Doing the whole engine loom in DR25 Raychem to F1 spec with autosport connectors.
Can see me regretting this move...

The loom would probably be strong enough for me to hang myself with
Not the reason for doing it though - it will be done for reliability - the connectors literally screw together - no chance of a dodgy connection cutting out on track/at brunters...
DR actually stands for Diesel Resistant, but if i do it in Vitone then it'll resist heat, fuel etc. to a point.
There are risks of using Vitone though - it produces hydroflouric acid when it sweats due to intense heat - and that acid dissolves your bones... which is bad...
