been n collected my mk3 cabriolet brake linkage and bulkead today, cheers Sean
no more sloppy brake pedal for me
bolted the linkage and servo/master cylinder into place, fits like a glove
view from the top
view from underneath
inside the car the brake pedal will still connect in exactly the same way
heres the bulkhead, ready to be trimmed and welded into position once ive cut the bits that need cutting out of my car.
heres the bulkhead rested above mine as i was visualising mine not being full of holes
new battery tray, to fill the awful hole you can see in the above pics
inside the car you can see these grills at the bottom of the bulkhead, what they for? 2 of mine are ok, and 1 has been sealed up as you can see
new drivers side sill pushed over the old one as a test fit and also to mark off where i need to cut the old sill off
rear right lower corner panel chopped out, still need a little bit more of this cut out before welding the new panel in place
sill chopped out ready to be cleaned up and new one welded in
armed with this mig welder and seam sealer i'll be cracking on at the weekend with making it look more like a car

luke89, the welder and gas bottle are my mates, hes got an account with a local place that rents/refills gas bottles etc, think he pays about 60 quid a year rent for the gas cylinder and 30 quid per refill (which lasts ages ages)

just came inside to advertise my zetec turbo engine on ebay, spread the word please people heres the link http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...tem=4570195014
while im in here i may as well stick the 2 pictures up of todays progress so far.
the bulkhead i got from Sean last week is now cut to shape, ready to be welded in. in this pic its just rested in place to see how it looks, made me smile when i seen it like this, really felt like i'd made progress
bulkhead and battery tray rested on in this pic, needs some work to get the battery tray to sit square, before the battery tray is welded in i have to cut a section of the inner wing out where its rotten and weld the repair panel in.
