............
Dude, if youre not using the 16i engine why not see if a S1 xr3/3i brake linkage will fit around the zetec......trust me it's better than the 16i effort with all the linkages.

Too many posts.. I need a life!!
Class idea with the brakes!
So why did they use all that linkage on the RSi then, instead of leaving the standard XR3 / S1 kit in there then? How wierd? Or does something foul?
Definately do the brakes, as the two inches of pedal movement before braking is aweful on the RSi setup..
Your cracking on at one hell of a pace chap!!!!
Well done

andyt, think i will Andy
rich p xr2t, done a bit more today, will be uploading the pics later on tonight
AD-RS1600i, not sure why they had the linkage the way they did to be honest with you but they obviously thought it was crap to drop it in the S1. The pace has slowed down recently as the weathers been crap whenever ive had the chance to do some work on the car cehck this out yesterday, pic of the back garden in all its soaking wet glory

Right idea with the back garden, when I get my place i'll either astro turf the back garden or do what you've done and deck it with paving slabs

AD-RS1600i, the decking makes for an easier life, means more time for the car
while the rains been stopping play a bit i started work on the dash, plan was to smooth out the centre dash vents, so that i could put gauges in their place. wasnt sure at first about mounting all 5 gauges i bought across the dash centre, but now i think im settling for boost gauge, oil temp and oil pressure, as theres already a water temp in the main dash cluster, and the voltage aint that important.
heres the dash as i was keying up the surface for the fibreglass to fix to
ive never used this stuff before so was a bit wary of it!! heres the first layer of fibreglass on the dash
a few layers later its getting somewhere close to being finished and flattened off

finally today the rain stopped and everything dried up outside so went outside n got stuck in
pulled the doors off
cars had new rear arches on in the past so had a bit of a grind to see where the bodge ended
popped the rear windows and rubber seals off...
oh aye... and the front wings
the rotten bit on the bulkhead and the battery tray were also cut out, needs tidying before the plates are cut and welded into place
been sunny all day today, the cars got no doors or windows in and no cover over it, thought we'd had the last of the rainbut its started pouring down again, i should really be more carfeul cos it could rust
thats all til 2moro, fingers crossed we get blue skies n plenty of sun

Freddy_mercury_magic, Twins, thanks
rich p xr2t, dark grey could be the way forward not too bothered when the cars finished to be honest, as long as its all on the road and engine ran in (possibly a different engine from the one a few pages ago ) and set up by april, ready for the show season

Looking good m8. I have all this to look forward to when I rebuild my front end next year
I only have a wee bit of rust though......... But doing it now before it goes like yours.
