I would have thought your biggest problem would be with turning the engine around to power the rear wheels, its not a common conversion so you may struggle with bellhousing etc etc.

Why not the 3.0 v6 out of an omega? Cheap as chips and already rwd so should simplify things.

yeah I did think of that as myself and Graeme were gona do an mgbt omega conversion.
the reason we decided the Mondeo st was the fact we wanted to transfer interior, loom etc as it all sits well...
we want to lower and let it sit with a wide stance..

think theres a kit for the bell housing but not sure where from

Either use the jag sump and gearbox or an adapter plate and something that will handle the torque.

I would have that running on the standard ecu..

4x4 jag box is from the xtype and in transverse config. S type box is inline, but nearly all if not all are auto. Iirc they did do a rwd 3.0 transit for foreign market

so the s type v6 and box would be best?

the transit rear wheel drive would be a bugger to find though

That ones been on ebay before, would of been a good buy for someone as a alot of work must of gone into it and it wasn't going for mega money. Running an xr4i I think

BOA/BOB would be an easier conversion as it's a well trodden path, however being a Volvo nut these days I'd agree with Glenn and go with a Focus ST/T5 5 banger, cracking engines and they're not that difficult to turn around. Also the noise is addictive.

Would a MT75 box not fit the Duratec.3.0?

all good comments guys. the thing is we are on a budget (not much really lol)
weve got a 1k to spend on truck, 1k to spend on engine/running gear, 2k on bodywork, 1k on wheels and sound/vision

this is why we looked originally at the st220 for budget etc but recently someone pointed out the jag engine and box. we're looking at the 3.0 and 2.5

Dont bother with the 2.5!
3.0 is a completely different engine with alot more power and alot less issues
