Got my ECU yesterday
Also got my Air Injectors, courtesy of Tim Finch at TF Rallyesport, they have been up to Harvey@SCS for cleaning / checking
Proper 909 WRC items by all accounts, from an ex Carlos Sainz WRC car
Not the cleanest of parts but nothing a little "fettling" wont sort ....
The bracket on the other hand was well past it
Sooooooooo,,,... time to try and make my own....
Get the idea now??
It isnt going to win any awards for engineering excellence, BUT it is my own work and I'm really pleased with it, killed two birds with one stone, a new bracket PLUS it secures the Injectors to the engine.....
What you reckon?

The cam cover is sprayed, Mallard.... I did actually think about doing that but I think I'll just bung it in with "the rest" of the powder coating for now see what I think then

Damn.. that's impressive..
It took me some time to read the whole topic, but it's worth it
Great rebuild.. and I thought I was doing a rebuild

Nothing special to report but a couple of pics I have taken
A pic from underneath, obviously all the yellow stuff is waxoyl
Close up of sump
My front prop now with grease nipples
Front diff
Got my fuel lines and connectors courtesy of Rich Pon today, forgot my camera though so a pic from the phone will have to do
All the lines have been made up now, managed to try and fire her up today, but it werent having any of it, my money is on incorrect firing order (coilpack)
OR Pectel board not made for dizzyless if thats possible
Tommorrow, fresh head, time will tell.....

Bugger Damo, was hoping you were going to say she fired up and is running now.
But I remember you missed out on last years Nat Day because of brake discs, and that was after all the hard work you put into finishing Tony's late that evening, i really hope you make it this Nat Day m8

she runs
got her running yesterday, changed coilpack leads across fromm left to right, and put phase sensor where it was originally... fired up
Basically the plug leads are now the "wrong way round" but it works lol
Noticed a slight oil leak though were I had it running for a while in the garage
Did a couple of miles yesterday (last night) managed to get to the Kent meet and back, feels very different now, what with new rack and some bushes I have changed, feels alot more presise drives alot different too, not sure if its due to the lwered comp and clutch or a maping issue, time wil tell once I have done my 1000 miles and been back to Ahmed

Little update for you all...
Got my bracket back from the powder coaters and I have cleaned the injectors up painted the metal base of them and sprayed the alloy blocks to tidy them up a little also...
The fuel reg now with fuel lines (Ignore the Vac hose, thats due to have braided hose as soon as I know the thread size in the reg ..

Damo - Your bracket looks very pro now, good work! The whole air injector setup looks very neat and tidy, amazing what paint does I love the attitude of Cossie owners. Here you were, thinking of selling...it breaks and you come back and give it a monster rebuild. In my opinion, one monster rebuild like this is a good investment. Working over the whole lot should really reduce the risk of major issues popping up again. I've recently installed a Zetec Turbo in my Fiesta. It took a while, but I've taken time and care with it and am just about to tick over the 2,000 mile mark since it was mapped at the end of July. Loving the reliability!! Good luck with the rest

Not too sure exactly how the Air to Air injectors work mate, but basically AFAIK they bring the boost up to a pre determined level straight away then maintain a perfect boost level/curve
I'm sure someone else can better expand upon that OR correct me
Anyway.....
I have now done 650 miles, by the time I come back from Trax I'll be ready for a trip to Ahmed
Got my new Air injector loom
Seeing as I have been needing to do a few miles I decided to drive across to Think Auto and pick up some more Aeroquip stuff... Its all -4 .......
Little while later
After I took these pics, I decided to turn the injectors upside down so the loom could be routed a little nicer, the pipes were only connected up to take the pics, I have connected them back together for now and I'm just waiting for an adaptor for the fuel reg

I still can't believe you'd sell up after all this! Good to see it in the flesh, and that backfire was something else! Was like the moment in Friends when Ross was "shot at" The trip home took you over the 1,000 mile marker then did it? When do you plan to get to Ahmed? Next week?
