Default XR2 Reshell

I've been trying to buy this for a while. Friend finally agreed to sell, the red xr2 has 60000 genuine miles with fsh to back it up. The other shell is a genuine xr2 shell as well, it's solid but needs some serious bodywork. The plan is get the good shell rubbed down and painted then swap all the running gear over.

The red one is far to much work to fix, chassis legs are red rotten on it, this silver shell is solid underneath so good starting point and quicker than fixing the red one.

they both look fucked, check out xrtwo.com, good shells pop up regular
the mk2 fiesta i just broke up looked ok bar rot in arch and doors but once i pulled it apart there was no joint between floors and sills and it was too far gone in the worst places like inner rear sill triangles altho the scuttle and blkhead were mint

there are some very special shells kicking about at teh mot with perfect paint and ready to build up for less money than a good paint job will cost on yours after all that work

The silver might look fooked but it looks worse than you think it's solid underneath scuttle is solid inner wings are all good only the outside needs the work.

The wheels on the red one are worth money now, along with the hubcaps

Rare wheels

Default Progress

Well made some progress today. Both quarters rubbed down and primed with red oxide. Most of the small surface rust bits on the front were rubbed down and primed hoping to get the rest of the shell in red oxide primer by the end of the week. Sourced a mint tailgate just trying to source better doors and a bonnet.
