Thanks lads, got the rear seats and the belts in yesterday:

Still not sure the front seat belts have the correct spacer on the upper belt mount?
They stick out quite far TBH.

Mark I was trying to find a pic for you but cant find it on my phone, think they are pretty fat to be honest, the ones for the back seats are bigger I think

Fit carpet, centre console, handbrake surround with Richbrook leather gaitor(surround not standard on early RSTs) so used the gaitor to hide the gap that otherwise would of exsited. Also wacked in the lower belt anchor and RHS rear panel trim.

I believe it was around late 1989, Its a good mod for the early models, you lose the coin slot end on the centre console. But there is slots on the handbrake surround for coins,

You can either keep the early handbrake or change to the late handbrake, which is thicker. If you keep the early one there'd be a big gap either side of the handbrake. One reason why the gaitor was fit.

Engine fired up for the 1st time in 3 years.

Few problems along the way. Water not flowing through the engine, so just done a thermostat change, and bought a new cambelt, tensioner and water pump/Gasket.

drivers seat in, just finishing up doing small stuff while saving money for paint. Brake pipes need doing next.

Thanks, Turns out the thermostat was knackered... swapped it over with a new one and engine runs spot on. Not yet done the water pump/cambelt change yet, but will do soon.

Handbrake cable(RS2000) fitted adjusted and working as it should. Brake pipes are on the to do next list. hopefully monday.

I actually went to pick it up today. I went in my 2012 Fiesta Ł40 in petrol and 4 1/2 hour round drive. Gutted it didn't fit in is an understatement, its about an inch too wide to slide into the boot. Going friday 28th Dec in my dads MK2 Mondeo hatchback as thats quite wide I fit a door in width length with ease.

I did indeed, its very shiny. Pretty good finish seeing it wasn't painted in a spray booth.

If you haven't yet, check out my thread in the ERST section about the spliter.

wouldn't of liked watching it blow away or get damaged going down the motorways. Still minor set back. Still need to look into a new headlining now.
