mk3.5 zetec turbo fiesta UPDATE

Update:30/6/13
Its beem a while since i have done a update, mainly because my laptop died but its sorted now so here is a long due update,
Main thing thats happened is the car is now running and has a mot and insurance, just need to tax it on monday,
had a few issues along the way since the last update, got it running and moving under its on power but had a issue with the gearbox jumping out of 5th so had to remove the box and strip it down again,i knew the syncros where all ok so was confused as why it was jumping out, when i striped it dowm ifound where i welded 5th in place part of the weld was hiting the selector fork and pushing it off the syncro, sothat issue was sorted i put it all back together amd it was spot on,
After that was done it was just a case of sorting out little oil leaks from the drysump setup,i was trying to get the car finished for castle coombe rs day and its done but not happy about driving it there as it needs a remap asap so the plan is to get it booked in as soon as i can and get it ready for ford fair
Here are some photos of how it is now,not sure on thers badge on the back but thought it goes well with the orange bits

Mk3.5 fiesta zetec turbo, fast ford cover car
UPDATE TIME 1/1/14
its been a while since I have updated and a lot has happened since then, first was after I had the car mot'ed got a message from dan and Jamie from fast ford asking if they could do a feature on it to say I was over the moon was a understatement, I still had some bits to tidy up and tried to do all the little bits intime for the feature, but every thing came together just in time
the day the feature took place was one of the hottest days of the year and the only time I had driven the car since its mot, I had been looking for local places to do the shoot at leading up to the Friday of the shoot and thought I had found a good place so arranged to meet the photographer there. but when we all got there people had parked on the area that we where going to use so we had to have a look around the area for some where else to do the shoot, we could see loads of places that looked ideal but they where all behind the security gates for the docks, but on the off chance we drove down a little entrance to a mini industrial estate and found the perfect place,it was quiet/out of the way and looked great
here are a few of the photos that where taken on the day,
once the photos where taken Jamie phoned me up and done an interview over the phone so he could do the write up,a massive thansks to Jamie and dan for sorting it all out and for such a good write up and for the tickets for ford fair
when I was at the photo shoot I wasn't happy with how the car was running and knew it wouldn't like the drive down to devil devlopments for it to be mapped the following weekend so sent a few messages around to people and managed to have the car picked up the following day by Michael Clarke on his recovery truck, thanks again for sorting it at short notice
once the car was at devils it gave me a chance to holiday from the car and for lee and the guys down there to work there magic on it and get it running how it should and to map it, when the car was down there they had a few teething issues with the car like the tps sensor was faulty and needed changing for a new one(that would also explane why it run so rough when driving it) ,once they sorted it all out they made a start on the mapping, when it was there it was getting very close to ford fair and they run out of time so only done a low boost map so I could take the car to the show,i got the phone call to pick it up and arranged to pick it up the Saturday before ford fair, when I got there I was happy to see the car again and looked forward to driving it home, lee showed me the dyno graph on the computer and I was happy to see the power it was making on such low boost, it made 340bhp at 0.7 bar and once I have got some miles done in the car for me to take it back and they will add more boost,so hopefully with more boost it will be into the 500's , I would like to say a huge thanks to lee and the guys at devil devlopments for all there work and helping it be ready for me to take to ford fair. the drive home was great and the noise it makes on boost is
the next day after picking it up was ford fair and I had the great spot of being on the fast ford stand and parking mine next to lucas fiesta, had a little issue with the car getting a little hot in the traffic going into the show so needed to fit a bigger set of rad fans, but that's all sorted now, here are some photos from ford fair
after ford fair I hardly used the fiesta due to other things going on but had a call off dan asking if I wanted to be on the fast ford stand at trax so I wnet along to that, was surprised to see the amount of attention the car got there and was good to see how all the other car groups do things, the only down side to the show was when I left the car was running a little rough, thought it was because of the rain but it didn't clear so pulled over at the side of the road to take a look and see what was up and found someone had unplugged no1 injector so the car was only running on 3 lucky I had a look before something went bang,
since the show I have driven the car quite a bit and as usual with a car build from a bare shell there have been a few teathing issues but all are sorted at the moment and as soon as the good weather comes back the car will be going back to devil devlopments for the mapping to be finished and then the track days will start, really looking forward to what this year brings with the fiesta
also the car is up for car of the year with fast ford so please can you vote for it

Mate of mine took his car to show and someone ended up putting something in the trumpet/s of the ITB's and it ended up damaging the head, bore, piston, valves etc etc
He will need go to a show again and leave the bonnet up unless he's around
some scum bags out there

Bit of a late update. Thought I would do a update as its been so long since the last one, since the last update I have had some more mapping done at devil developments, the boost has been upped to 1.6bar and is now running 428bhp, the car feels loads stronger and like a animal on boost, I was hoping the car would have made closer too 500bhp but it seems the turbo was struggling a little, its only on a .48 exhaust housing so it was doing well to make what it did, alli would need would be a turbo change to get ove 500 but I dont want to be chasing numbers as the car is loads of fun at the moment.
I took the car to Ford fair and trax and both times it was on the fast ford stand ,here are some photos of it there
ive got a few plans for the car overthe winter like striping the gear box down as its a little noisey after a few hard drives and I've got a new dash to replace my pi systems 2 one and got a few bits to tidy up aswell

UPDATE TIME 31/7/15
thought I would do an update.as its been so long.some things have changed since the last update.most have been just tiding things up and sorting any little issues out that uve had along the way. The main update has been that I have had it remaped after fitting a new turbo.i decided to change to a precision turbo 6266gen2 with a .63 exhaust housing as I wanted to brake the magic 500bhp .after the car was left with lee at devil developments for him to work his magic on it the car made 518bhp to say it is a handful is a understatment. When it comes on full boost its just a matter of holding on.
Other little bits I have done have been painting the intercooler amd rad black so they blend in a little and painting the rear calipers and discs to tidy them up
Also had a few issues with running so much power in a fwd.had a cv joint die on me coming back from fiesta in the park
Here are a few photos of the progress so far

Very cool rob and iam so glad you didn't sell it after all your hardwork , breaking the 500 bhp ain't as easy as everyone makes out and unless you understand how much money it takes and effort people shouldn't comment.
Just a great car and get some enjoyment out of it .
Cheers paul

Yeh ime really happy with how it looks with the cooler black l.should have done it when I first built it. The first rac bloke was a bit funny about it because it wasn't a standard road car and kept saying it wouldn't fit on his dolly ect but he was shocked when it went straight on and the low loader bloke was ok about it and seemed to like it
I've got some track time at ford fair so hopefully I won't brake it lol
