UPDATE TIME: 22/1/12
been a little busy with the car over the last weekend, managed to bolt the fuel system in propely and run the fuel lines down the n/s sill and clip them in place, also mounted the bulkhead fittings for them through where the factory ecu should go, the fuel system inside the car is nearly complete the only thing i need are two ends for the lift pump and that will be fitted after the fuel filter,i was running -10 from the tank to the swirl pot but decided to change it down to -8 as i had some spare ends and the hose i had matches the rest of the system, here are some photos of the 99%finished fuel system
i also decided to sort my dash out, i have decided to run a mk5 dash as i think it looks better than the mk3 dash i had and fits the cage better, the other reason for changing is that i need to run a mk5 spedo head for the speed pickup off the gear box and the mk3 head isnt a digital one,i decided to have a go at modding the cluster suround and removed the vents as there no use any more due to not having a heater matrix in the car any more so i choped them out and plastic welded a plate in and drilled some holes for some gauges, all it needs now is to be flocked, after i done that i made a switch pannel up using a sheet of carbon and mounted a gauge holder in there aswell, then i mounted the switches for the fuel pumps, ecu and the ingition and a focus rs push button start, after that i mounted the switches for the windows and the boot popper, all that needs doing now is to finish of the wiring and bolt it in propely,
i also decided to bolt a seat in just so it looks like ime getting some where with the build, thought it would be harder to get in with the cage but its not that bad
now on to todays work, lastweek i got some new tyres fitted to my wheels and today i had a go at fitting the wheels, the fronts went straight on with no issues but the backs needed a little work because of the focus rear hubs pushing the wheels out more than normal, but thats nothing a air saw and belt sander didnt sort out, ime now happy with how they sit
so thats it for today and hopefully get a chance to finish off the dash wiring next weekend then i can sort out the peddle box and fit the other seat

UPDATE TIME: 26/2/12
thought i would do a bit of an update, havent done any thing on the car for a few weeks because its been too cold to be working outside,so i thought i would spend some time on it today as it was nice and sunny and warm,
so i thought i would fit the new ends i got for my lift pump, was a bit of a nightmare finding what size the ends where as the ones procomp listed on there website for the pump where the wrong size, so after a trip over to tremona garage (thanks guys ) i knew what size the ends had to be so got some oreded up, so i fitted those and bolted the pump and filter in place
after sorting that out i sorted the wiring out for the tailgate (boot relise, rear wiper) i changed to a mk5 tailgate loom because ime not using the contact plates that goes in the rear pannel, after changing ome plugs and re routing the wiring it was all done and working whylst i was doing that my dad was wiring up the fuel pumps and sorting out the relays for the pumps so there all done just need to wire them to my dash switches i also thought it would be a good idea to sort out some security on the car aswell since my mum caught some bloke trying to get in to it so now thats all done aswell
hopefully i will be able to fit some of the new bits i orderd aswell, i have got some rose jointed trackrod ends and some rose jointed top mounts and a new alloy battery box

Little update:
Haven't really done much since the last up date but got some little bits done, first was to finish off the wiring for the fuel pumps and to wire up the relays and switches, that's all done now so decided to wire up the mk5 fiesta dash, it was nice and easy to the only thing I need to sort is the fuel gauge out as its reading 1/4 full even though the tank is empty, the only parts left on wiring now is to wire in the engine loom and speed sensor for the gear box and the start button
Today I have the front brakes a fresh cost of paint after last Weeks nightmare with them, when I first done them the old white paint reacted with the new red paint and made the calipers go pink with white streaks in them lol so I left them to dry and re-painted them today so there now red just need some stickers for them,
I also got some ka hubs for the front and just need to fit some new bearings and flanges and that will be done next weekend then I can fit the front brakes on and new suspension and steering parts

UPDATE 15/4/12:
decided to do some bits on the fiesta today, starting to lose intrest in the car now so thought i would fit some new bits to it and see if it helped with the intrest, but it didnt lol, with all the nice weather that there has been i just want a car i can get in and drive and the mk3 is a long way off that at the moment,
any way here are some of the bits i have done today, first off was to get the new rose jointed top mounts fitted, they where easy to fit but just a little fiddly trying to work out where the bolt holes need to be on the strut tops, but there in now and just have to get my strut tops painted propely again,
after i done the mounts i refitted the shocks and fitted my new hubs, i fitted new bearings and wheel flanges to them the other week at work and painted them black, and then fitted the rs brembo brakes to make sure they cleared every thing, all i need to do now is to fit new pads and discs to them but that wont be done untill the car is finished, really happy with how well the brakes fill the wheels aswell
after fitting the brakes i fitted my new track ends and rods for the stearing rack and the new lock limiters, the lock limiters whrere a little fiddley to fit as there are two clips that clip together and hold the limiters in place and they where a bit hard to do at first but then found that using a set of molgrips to clip them together worked well, the only thing with the rose joint ends are they give the stearing to much toe in so need to shorten the rods a bit so i can lose some of the toe in,but i will be doing that later as i couldnt be bothered to do that today,
after i had done that and got the car back on its wheels i fitted some loom brade over the lift pump wires and fitted some black 30tx bolts to hold the pump and filter in as i didnt like the other bolts i had used as they looked out of place because of there colour
thats it for now, next on the list is to get the engine bolted in propely and sort the driveshafts out and make the exhaust, then i will have to remove the engine and box so i can sort out a proper gearbox for ir and sort out the hoses, hopefully i can find the intrest in building the car otherwise i will sell it and buy either a racing puma or a focus rs lol

UPDATE FOR TODAY: little update for today, didnt get much done because it kept on raining every 5mins but sorted out my rack ends so i have got rid of the massive tow in so now both wheels are straight foward and i also managed to bring the intercooler foward by about 1inch so it gives me better clearence for a huge fan and can also move the rad away from the wastegate pipe aswell as i only had about 10mm clearence, where i have moved the intercooler foward more it makes it eaiser to run the boost pipes and now means that i dont have to get my intercooler modded
i only done some little bits but its giving me the motavation to get the bigger bits done now so not getting too worked up with the car
i also got a new engine mount of gary (crazycage)thanks again for that aswell gary, so i can lose the mount at the back of the engine and that will give me the room to put the altanator back there and that will give me more room at the front of the engine for the exhaust and some other bits
hopefully if the weather is better next week i can fit the new engine mount and make a start on the drive shafts

thanks yeh the weather is doing my head in at the moment, wanted to do some work on the car today and sort the driveshaft lenghts out but couldnt do that because it has rained all day , but hopefully the weather will be better next weekend, but i have been busy buying some bits, i have bought a st170 alternator and mounting bracket so i can mount the altanator at the back of the engine and i got a cosworth tb and a very nice engine breather off will pedley ,
i had a quick look to see how the cosworth tb would fit with the mondeo servo and it dosnt so it looks like i will have to go back to a fiesta turbo one instead, havnt got any new photos apart from the engine breather pot

update :2/10/12
dont know where to start with this update really, quite a bit has been done but some where 2steps foward and then 2 back, the car is slowely getting closer to being finished but big things in the build are holding it up and are really anoying me because i cant do any thing about it apart from wait,
since the last update i got some nice stack gauges for my dash, fitted them all and wired up my mk5 spedo head but part of me wasnt happy with the setup, main two being the fuel gauge didnt read corect and the other being the spedo only went up to 140mph, so after a bit of thinking i decided to get a pi system two dash for it, the anying thing about it was that it dose every thing that my stack gauges dose but decided to double up on some bits just so there to look at straight away with out going through the dash screens
here is a photo of the stack setup
here is some photos of the new setup, i chopped the standard mk5 cluster about so i could mount the pi dash in there propely and then it uses the backlight off the original surround, once i sorted out the plastic sheet for it all to bolt on to i got some carbon wrap on it to make it look a little nicer,
the only issue that i could think of with the pi dash was the speed sensor needed sorting as it has a sensor that goes on a pickup not off the gearbox, so i decided to chop a abs sensor about on a ka hub i had spare
once i had all that sorted i lookd at other parts of the build that i wasnt happy with and i turned to the front brakes, first i got a set of bigger rotors for them, going from the standard 326mm to 330mm ap discs, i also want happy with the colour of the brembos so re done them and got some new decals for them
not long after doing them i found a set of ap5200 for a escort cosworth for sale at a very good price so had to buy them, when i got them they where looing a little worse for wear and each caliper had a sized pistion so i decided to strip them down to see how bad they where and found each caliper had 2 damaged pistions so i oredered 8 new pistions for both calipers, new seal kits and bleed nipples, still waiting on all that to come so whlyst waiting i took the calipers to work and cleanded them up and painted them black and done the claiper writing in orange, also waiting on new bells for them, orderd some custom ones from mk motorsport and having them in orange aswell to go with all the other orange parts
at the moment i have just sent my rad and intercooler away to have some adjustments done to them so they fit better and will hopefully get an exhaust system back at the same time
last weekend i got my gear set for my gearbox and made a start on that, just got to fit my new bearings to the diff and gearset then a quick modd to the gearset to sort a common issue with them then build it back up, i also ordered a clutch for it so when that comes i can refit the engine and finish off the wiring and plumb it all in and then its a waiting game for the external oil pump kit for the build to be finished
thanks for looking
