Shocking, truly shocking.

You have made a right toilet of this thread, same as you did with that pea shooter exhaust system, and yes i know it sounds good, and no matter what its staying..

Back to reality, this thread has had over 9000 views, why? i guess we all need a laugh after work, we all cannot be wrong...

Not one person is in favour of your mods....think about it..

Default ready for this.........

XR2 body kit arrived today so started to fit it, got this side nearly done.
Secured by drilling holes in bodywork then screws, (will also buy a tube of bodywork bonding aswell )only where they will be hidder by bumpers and bottom of sill for the skirts and same for both valances.
10mm spacers arrived aswel so thought id fit the red wheels to see what they would look like and personally i like it. Wheels fit perfectly on the rear now with the spacer but they catch the new arches on the front so wont be able to use them in any colour which is a shame.
This kit also came with the 3piece rear window surround spoiler which is a bonus and the whole kit cost only Ł28, its all like new

you have got to agree in some wierd way it suits it

seriously needs lowering 35mm now
Would i need to buy an adjustable panhard rod to lower it only 35mm ????

Heres what im left with at the end of the day

List of stuff needed to complete: Essentials
1 Caliper
1 door mirror
Rear trailing arms
35mm lowering springs PI

Doesnt need these but going to get them anyway for piece of mind:
Set of standard front and rear shock absorbers
Front lower ball joints
Rear brake shoes and cylinders
Maybe find another 2 xr3i wheels (pepperpots look shit with this kit, Lost in the arches)

Surprisingly those mondy wheels could look quite nice IF they were either silver or gunmetal.
look an eyesore in red tbh.

Disagree totally with your comment regarding pots looking lost with the arches on. Capri pots would be perfect, highly polished or diamond cut would look mint. Check out Tels white mk2 running capri pots with xr arches, looks stunning!

get rid of the wheels or paint them a different colour. It just looks horrible to much red. I would personally put some s1 escort 7spokes dimond cut on it and lower it 60mm

Wheels would look ok in silver or gunmetal. I was gonna say keep them and get the arches sorted, but you'd only butcher them

Instead of fitting MK6 seats, why not fit XR2 ones or RS Turbo ones?

honestly mate, I live 2500 km away but if you "refurb" some xr3i wheels in orange or blue or some shit you probably think looks good I'll personally pay you a visit
all jokes apart though how come you have such astoundingly epic bad taste... still makes me thing you're having a go judging by your ever-patient and calm replies, it's all in good humor but buy something else for god's sake!!!

mate,if you dont listen to anyone else on here, then listen to me.

please dont jack up your car like that.
use axle stands or atleast 2 jacks and some spare wheels under there just incase it comes down.
too many people have died under poorly jacked up cars.
one guy on here died that way over xmas.
never skimp on safety mate

you dont need an adjustable pan hard rod for 35mm really, i ran mine on 50mm with standard and no many others who do to. lower it 50mm!!! but i would probably put an adjustable rod on because your wheels are so big :/ and i would say make your own but that would be a disaster.

get rid of the red wheels. put some pepper pots on it or minilites or anything thats not fox or the ones on it. they look rubbish!!!
do you want it to look chavvy?

In all fairness, those wheels don't look masively bad, minus the bright red and silver caps, should've left them standard colour, they looked like they didnt need repainting, so why do it? I reckon if you get her lowered and paint them a half decent colur, would actually be an improvement for once

Body kit is on PROPPA with screws (no super glue)
Cut out the small amount of the corrosion on the arch before fitting the kit as it doesnt really matter as it wasnt alot plus its hidden.(i wasnt prepared to pay upwards of Ł150+ for a new arch welding in, didnt seem worth it as its not going to cause any problems in the future anyway)
Took the drums off to adjust handbrake and a shoe lining fell off so pick up some new rear shoes tomorrow along with a new front caliper as 1 of them is seized.
There is an axle stand under there!!!

Mondeo wheels are going as they wont fit when i lower it so bye bye, should get the same money back as what i paid for them which wasnt much.

XR2 ish wahaaaay
How GOOD does it look now eh... apart from the shockingly bad pepper pots, also selling them and going to look for 2 more xr3i wheels as they look so ace on there now.
Going to lower it 30mm now with new front shocks, 2 weeks max and it should be lowered

Prodded around the body today with a flat blade and only found this hole on the left side in the boot so going to cut a section out, spray it and wait till i get a welder or even hire 1 for a weekend

All going on ebay also the 2 pepper pots if any body is interested in refurbing them

Finally he sees sense!! The XR wheels don't actually look to bad on there mate so stick with them if you like them. Sure I have a couple lying about but I'm a bit of a distance from you TBH. As for

Mate you are mental! Get the bodywork done properly before you go buying any more shite for it. This is a classic car and 150 quid is more than worth it to stop it turning into a pile of rusty metal. Please please please listen to what people are saying. They're not just taking the piss they're trying to help you too!

If you can't afford all the parts you want just wait and do them slowly, one at a time. Don't buy cheap secondhand parts and refurb them yourself because it's easy to get excited and make a crap job.

Seriously m8, slam it, keep it clean with a set pepper pots.
