Went for a long drive in the Yorkshire Dales on Thursday this pic was Ilkley tops, sounded great up in the hills with the straight through exhaust especially on run down or overrun what ever its called. These style of wheel in black on this car just looks the dogs bollocks.

new number plates are on now they have a Ford badge at the side and a message at the bottom.
Got followed home today and this guy jumped out with his family in the car, thought he was gonna give me a telling off for the loud exhaust but he just wanted to see my car and said hes got a load of cheap xr2 bits for sale. so is there anything that i need that would look good from an xr2 ??


look at these beauty's bought them today locally and there in really good nick with 3 decent tyres so just gonna sell them on now and try make a lil profit, going on ebay now if anyone is interested

Mate that sounds horrible, like the scooter i had when the exhaust fell off tbh.

 

when driving along it does have a nice tone and and in 3rd gear has a nice burble, but then it starts popping like mad and its incedibly loud so its really funny when people look round and see their faces wondering whats going on

sounds like my old 70 cc race moped and that was with a fucked engine sort your exhaust out and sell it to someone decent and buy a saxo

 

I hate saxo's had a 1.1 before and it was a pile of shite just swapped it straight away. ive started to save for a xr2 system Ashley or Sportex ??
or any other suggestions around the £150 mark

well went and bought a used oval tipped cherry bomb locally for a tenner and sounds sweet, nothing like my old one. Just had to buy this due to not wanting to get stopped by the police and not to get dirty looks form old people because of the straight pipe

would a standard xr2 exhaust sound nice on mine, but dont want it to quiet

 

Would sound better than a cherry bomb or straight through. I think they have 2 silencers on the xr2 system, (if not some one will correct me) if it does you could remove one to make it a bit louder.
Tbh honest like it has been mentioned you will probably better off with an Ashley System.

 

XR2 exhaust will give a decent enough tone without being OTT

id steer clear of any ashley systems in all honestly I havent seen one thats lasted very long

 

tbh mate id go for an xr2 exhaust, you can make a 950 loud but that would involve keeping the straight through exhaust which is loud, but in a bad way... dont advertise what you cant back up

having a straight through exhaust will also mean that engine can lack in back pressure as its only a small 4-pot, the back box's are there for a reason to keep sound levels at a decent level and help it hold back pressure abit better so that it runs better and makes better power. i can bet that the engine wasnt as responsive as before?

 

Made a mdf parcel shelf to fit some new 6x9" Sony explod speakers but the shelf is sprayed black so its understated.
also made 1 door card today (all cut down to size and straight so does look proffesional tbh) so far with a new 5.5" speaker mounted to it with the old window winder, handle and thats it dont need the door pockets.
i sprayed the door card red as there was no black left so it does look shocking at the moment but thinking of getting a carbon fibre effect vinyl wrap to cover the door cards ????????

Got given a pair of spot lights today so will be mounting them to the bumper soon, they are a bit smaller than the xr2 ones but still look cool they have an angel ring light on the outside and a normal bright light in the middle and has button controls for the dash

need some ideas now for some good bits to add to my car and i dont mean chavvy stuff. ?????

ive just bought a pair of sierra cosworth 4x4 front callipers on ebay so need to find out what discs to get, been told before to get some 2wd rs2000 discs but what size ??260mm, 270mm ???

Because i like the scooby seats and brakes are more important plus im on my second set of pads not as they keep cracking and now need a 3rd, so cosworth set up with green stuff or mintex pads

its a poxy 1 litre kid, it doesnt need a 'cosworth setup' ffs, are you doing this just so you can stick a cosworth sticker somewere?

listen mate sell me the car before you end up making a total mess of it cos you have been given advise on how to do it properly and haven't listened to any one Ive got a zetec turbo engine sat here doing nowt at the minute and live in Bradford 10min drive from you and ill give you £350 and you can keep the jap crap seats halfords head unit and your wheels and cherry bomb.

 

Yes but will soon have a zetec init at some stage so why not buy the brakes while there cheap, second hand cosworth calipers don't come around everyday
at the price in paying.

 

No not ever selling but ill pay u £300 to fit me a. 1.6 or 1.8 zetec and wire it up,fuel supply and ill sort out the exhaust and the rest to get it on the road
