whats the easiest way to paint the insides of the transit connect headlights my mate mentioned baking them 2 loosen them up but im abit nervous bout putting them in the oven!
I've done about 10 sets of different lights now, it's all very well heating them up, but then they are far too hot to handle. Your best bet is to use a heat gun to warm the glue section at a time, nice and hot, just before the plastic starts to melt. then run a blade or a small flat blade screwdriver through the glue. You should then slowly be able to pull them apart.
Does make a huge difference, here's my current car, before and after.
when i did mine i just scuffed all the chrome and then primered but it looked rough so i gave it a couple more layers and then wet and dry'd with 2000 i think it was and was smooooooooooooooth after that. then obv base coat
just give them a rub down with some wet and dry paper to remove the shine and give them a good key, wash with hot soapy water, few coats of primer, rub back with fine wet and dry again, then a few coats of matt black.
