Took the bb project to autowerx in milton keynes to have her mopped.
They spent 7 hours on her and the results are astounding.
I arrived at 3.30pm and left at 10.30pm
I thought it was shiny before, but now it’s a different league to before.
Big big thanks to dave form autowerx for doing this for me.
I will let the pics do the talking, although they really don’t do it justice
And heres the finished car
oooooooooooooooooooooohhhhhh yeah baby

had a bit of a nightmare
after ford fair i took my car home instead of in my unit as it was going in to autoworx for some work on monday.
i covered it up with the tarpaulin i always use on it in the unit.
when i got up in the morning, the wind had lifted the tarp and its was blowing about rubbing all over the car .
i took it off and you wouldnt beleive the damage it had done to the car.
scratched the whole car to buggery
initially i thought the car had been vandalised as it was so bad.
i cant believe how much damage it has done to every panel.looks like i have rubbed sandpaper all over it :ffs: :ffs: :ffs: :ffs:
ive had a 7 hour mop done on the car and its managed to get the scratches out thank god
thought i was due another respray
whilst it was in the bodyshop i had the front passenger wing resprayed as it had a little dent in it,and had the spoiler and tailgate painted too cos it had a small dent and some scratches
also having a visit from a dent man to remove the ding i put in my door when i fell over with a crowbar and whacked it :ffs:
and removing the 3 high spot dents in my bonnet i put in it by drilling the holes for the heatshield :ffs:
i also did some work on it myself whilst it was in there ,i put in a piper 285t2 camshaft, new lifters and a new cambelt.
old cam looked pretty worn when i took it out so glad i did it
to bed in the cam your suppposed to run the engine at 3000rpm for 15 mins.
i did that, not thinking to keep an eye on the temps, and after 11 mins,a pipe burst and water and steam came flying out and went fookin everywhere :ffs:
oh the joy of cars :ffs:
ill get some pics up of the car when i get it back next week
heres how it looked yesterday

ok guys,
the bb project went boom on sunday
conrod on pot 2 snapped and blew a hole in the front of the block whilst i was convoying to donington rs national day.
this made all the oil hit the hot turbo, and engine bay burst into flames.
i had a fire extinguisher with me but due to the heat shield on the fron of the car,i couldnt get to the fire to put it out.
Fire extinguisher ran out whilst the fire was still blazing,so i had to go the boot, get an adjustable spanner and undo the 3 bolts holding the shield on as fast as i could to allow access to the fire.
Luckily i had some cans of coke and a bottle of orange, which i used to put the fire out.
without them,i would have definately lost the whole car to fire.
yesterday i went to assess the damage.
only went for a look and ended up removing everything except the bottom end.
bay is now completely stripped.
conrod snapped, the piston hit the inlet valve on number 2 and damaged it slightly, bottom boost hose is fire damaged,so is some of the wiring, but all in all i got off lightly as i could have easily lost the whole car to the fire.
ive been looking to upgrade the engine for some time now,so its forced me to make a decision.
Ive decided to build a 2.0 zetec turbo engine for it and aim for 300+ bhp
I was looking to buy another car over the winter, possibly a mk1 escort, but now i will concentrate on making the black beauty come back quicker and stronger.

Yes I'm proud to say that he is. Was over his yesterday while he was getting the manifold back on. It is starting to look like a car, and a very smart one. Keep trying to get him to give me his wheels, but no luck lol. Did come away with some other bits though. Being his sister has perks
