just to make matters worse...i have just been told no one has any clutches that i ordered so its a 2-3 week waiting till they are in stock! typical!!

Rudesta....not gonna race you...i might break my car PMSL just fookin about...when we're at brunters we will definately have a go...although ill be sure to take a good rolling shot of your car as you roll past me LOL...not too sure what power to expect any more as the turbos that i was mentioning in this thread are a no go anymore...T34 here we come! hopefully will be ordering it very soon!

Hey people just thought i would give a quick update with whats going on with the car...

basically everything has been ordered in order to get the engine finished....that includes:

turbo
exhaust manifold
management
injectors
wiring loom

also went to see how the engine is getting on at Steves place (Vulcan) and everything is ready for a dummy build to give everything the once over....once it is checked over, i will be picking it up and building it all up and double AND triple checking it over to make sure everything is perfect and how it needs to be! Then as the new bits arrive, they will be added to the engine accordingly

Fast Ford also popped down on thursday to take pics of the engine in its current state and want more pics once more parts have been assembled to it

The clutch has also been ordered and are STILL waiting for it....its an AP 4 pedal Focus RS Clutch which needs certain parts to be modified in order to fit the car properly

The gearbox is yet to be ordered or should i say picked up from the scrappy and then needs to be sent away to Bernie for some diff-ing and rebuilding and maybe even shot peened gears etc etc

We have also decided to use a hydraulic clutch as it will make life so much easier in traffic situations (please dont forget this is my everyday car )

On a note besides the engine, i have started work on my dash boardand will be posting up pics this evening when im further into that little project...but the basic jist of it is theres a centre channel speaker going in there (for 5.1 surround sound), 2 gauges going in custom locations and smoothing a few bits over, bit of fibreglassing here and there, bit of cutting here there and right over there....im sure u get what i mean LOL...oh and the new ECU is going in there as well so its out the way but accessible....after u remove some stuff PMSL

will be posting some pics up tonight to show u how its all going

cheers alpine1...not too sure howmuch i have spent to be honest...but it aint anywhere near as much as most people think...as i do everything myself and get trade prices for everything...i save a fair bit as you could imagine

this is whats happening with the dash:

this area is to be cut and smoothed...


like so...


this bit had to be smoothed over as well just to be a bit different


ended up like this for the moment


MDF sheets were then cut into the right size to place over various bits...




had to find a home for the ECU so made up a dummy box one to get the dimensions correct and place it in its temp home...

notice the cut on the bottom corner for access to the ECU once it arrives

there are 2 gauges and a centre channel speaker going into the dash as well as the ECU...oh and a PS2 and a few other goodies eventually when i move to do the inside of the car properly


next bit was to get the good old fibreglass out and slap it over the place PMSL and it finished for the time being like this:

turbo has been ordered and arrived (with my supplier at the moment...should be with me in the next week or so)
inlet manifold is ready
exhaust manifold is away being welded
Management and injectors are ordered...need to go and collect them
Loom is being made
had a slight issue with the bottom end piston rings but it should all be resolved tomo
the engine was dummy built and EVERYTHING was as near perfect as we are going to get it well...apart from the piston rings LOL

At this stage, i HAVE to give a HUGE thank you to the following people...

IAN HOWELL....TRUELY a Zetec God!! would still be struggling if it wasnt for his help, advice and AWESOME prices!
STEVE @ VULCAN....has done the machining required to my engine and the stage 3 head to the highest standard i have EVER seen!!
AHMED BAYJOO....AWESOME price on my management and injectors
BOBBY_SINGH....ALWAYS putting up with my questions and helping out as much as he can
HARDEEP_SINGH....for our engine/gearbox/suspension/car talks lol...always gets me thinking about new ideas
and EVERYONE else who has helped with the engine along the way to this point....

whats left now is sorting the gearbox out, assembling the full engine, awaiting delivery on the remaining parts, ordering the intercooler, fitting the engine and box, mapping, then racing my manager LOL

getting there slowly...with working so much i aint really had time to sort much out...
