You should be able to fit a 1.7 puma engine in for about the same price. It's a pretty straight forward swap. Is your mk4 analogue or digital? Depending which it is will determine what puma loom and ECU you'll need. Engine is pretty much straight swap bar upper engine mount that you use off the puma. Me and a mate fitted a 1.6 out of a zetec s in his mk4.

i already have the 1.6 lump mate as i smashed the focus up pretty bad so am goin t use it as a donor car. For the fezza im still on the spy for a half tidy 1 thats not a rot box.
Its my 1st project and am realy unsure wat av let myself in for

Ah fair enough then

Same things still apply. I dont know the in's and out's of the focus loom so find yourself a loom and ECU out of a Zetec S. Make sure you find a mk4 with a digital dash (it makes life so much easier when it comes to the converstion) Engine mounts are the same. Bolt the engine in. Fit new loom and ECU (dont forgot the transponder) and away you go!

Cool, look forward to seeing what you do.

I'll have to keep my eyes open for it seeing as you're not too far away.

Cool, Im the other side of Rotherham.

I'm the local rep for Yorkshire (on ZSOC) so I usually sort meets out in Rotherham or Doncaster every month or so. I'll let you know when the next one is. Be good to see it come along.

Cool, I have a fair bit of work to do to mine aswell end of the month. Hoping to get mine all sorted for Ford Fair.

I'll be sorting a meet more than likely in Doncaster back end of August. We normally get 20+ cars.
