I'm only just catching up on this thread and it's a great read.
This looks absolutely stunning and IMHO, Ford didn't make a better wheel ever than the Diamond Cut RS-7's (Shame they are not available in an 18" 5x108 pattern, they'd be straight on my Mondeo).
Great work......

Ford live this weekend, think I'm going to pull the old girl out and take her on track again. It felt pretty good last time apart from the dodgy steering bush so will get that done this week before hand and have a play again. Oh I need a fuel cap! Anyone got one for sale? I left the bloody thing on the back after filling up last time out. Moron that I am...

Last time I went out I managed to do the age old favourite of leaving the bloody fuel cap on the back window! Moron I know
So I have been trying to get a full lock set and got messed around for two weeks, sadly it didn't turn up and I thought I wouldn't be able to go on track do didn't bother to do the steering bush. Managed to borrow one just for the show at the last minute. So gave the car a wee clean for Ford Live at knockhill
And got loaded up...

Ford live started off wet and horrible but the sun eventually popped out and it was a great day
Didn't take the escort on track as I didn't have time to do the steering bush so luckily I had something in reserve. Quality day and even got a wee bit sunburnt!
And the outcome of two sessions of playing

New wheels have arrived, going for refurb then I can see what the S1 will look like with them on, always wanted a set for it.
Also popped the lock out of my broken cap to swap over onto the new one when it arrives, unfortunately half the key has broken inside it I think! How do you or an you split the lock to remove it?

Wheels are back from powder, well pissed off with them, they didn't do the centre caps. Apparently they don't do them, just pulled the badges off them and sprayed them the same colour, they didn't even rub them down. Said it would be another 30 quid a centre cap!! Could have killed him
Wheels turned out ok though

The wheel specialist in Cumbernauld
Won't be using them again. Shocking service. I came in to collect and saw the state of the centre caps and asked why they hadn't done them too. Was told they don't do them unless you pay extra (20-30quid a cap) I told them that nobody had told me that and I wouldn't have bothered having the wheels done then. Just a kept on saying the same thing to me. Couldnt get the guy to agree with me that how could I know that they didn't powder the caps and would just rattle can them. The wheels look great too which is annoying cos y prob could do a decent job of the caps....

I've heard good and bad about them, the guy in the unit next door to us has had them do 3 sets of lexus wheels, 2 sets of amg wheels and a set of range rover wheels, the amg wheels and range rover wheels were perfect, but every set of lexus wheels are poor, he got his wifes lexus Rx wheels done pearl white( you've prob seen it kicking around, he stays next st up from you), wheels were fine( not my taste but good enough job), but the centres were done plain white cause they couldnt match the colour on plastic, i thought that was quite poor, but he was happy enough but it put me off a bit
