O and the best photo of the day was me getting the trophy we have introduced for lack of tallant or car brack down we my rear part of my exhaust fell off so I've got it again . And the rules are uoy have to change your wattsap profile picture to being prosented with the trophy witch is now done lol
its a good bit of fun we have . I've been thinking about modding the exhaust to side exit for a long time now so I think its 100% on the cards now

Thanks mate . The trophy was introduced by my mate Shep and it just adds to the fun and banter on the day .
The car ran spot on all day and as the gearbox was out before I changed the master cylinderto a .700 and the gearbox was spot on . And it was good playing with the mapdccd in the wet

We as I ran the car last weekend and I had noticed a lot of the water was gone the alarm bells started ringing . Well on Friday night I pulled the plugs out and with the use of my bore scope I could see water sitting on top of piston nuber 3 . So today I set about pully the head off at first I was struggling to find the problem . Then I found it the bore on number 3 was cracked again .
so over Xmas I'm going to start building my 200 block motor .

Gutted mate, you seem to be able to break them

Is it always no3 that goes? Why so many engine failures? Is there an underlying problem elsewhere? Your next engine sounds like it's going to be quite a pricey build. I'd be a bit worried

Hi mate ye all ways number 3 that fails .
the 205 and 202 are a good block if your only going
To run about 300 BHP and they will last all day but I'm told all 205 and 202 have a cooling problem around number 3 . And as the motors that go in this focus get the nuts rung out of them to be onist it's no surprise they fail . I do worm them up before going on track and I all ways do one lap on track before giving it some as I need to get the tyers up to Temp and clean the marbles of them . Then it's play time then I all ways do a cooling down lap then pull in bonnet up fans on for about 2 to 3 min then turn off and start my checks

+1mm you’d be better investing money in one block and making it solid rather than splitting liners and thread holes in various different ones. IMO i’d liner your 200 block.

Thanks lads I'm starting a Big push to start getting all the remaining parts sorted to put my 200 block in the car .
the 200 block i had off dingla has had a linner put down number 3 as it looked like it had had a big problem in it's life . I've all so had 6 long studs fitted and WRC oil spray jets . It's on a fresh .50 bore size

My block has my main oil return drilled and tapped direct into the cylinder block wall of number 3 to help with this issue, rather than returning to the oil modine/take off as normal, Tommy field does this on all his cossie engines and always has done as this was always a known issue

So the oil comes out of the normal place/take off, through the filter and cooler etc then returns direct into the block between 3 and 4
its not a miracle fix or anything but I remember him saying it definitely helps the issue

cossie fan (unluckerly)
Surly if you use a good 200 block or 200 with proper liners in it your not need to mess about drilling and tapping the block. Plenty of cars out there with big power even over 600bhp without this.

I think FMS does this more with the reasoning that it doesnt hurt to do it and it is a very simple an easy mod to do when the engine is being built so why not, they don't say it must be done, as you say a good engine should be fine in the first place i believe this was done at Mountune back in the day when running the works engines so IF that is true then they done it for a reason, precautionary measures never hurt
