Well bit of a update I'v drove the car tonight for the first time and I did take a big gambull with this gearbox and it's bit me but I'm still hoping I can come in on budget . The gearbox has got to come out again as it's crunching going into 3rd gear and it's got a bit of a wined to it . It was a gambull i tuke but at least when it's rebuilt it will be 100% spot on . My good mate Rex is going to phone gears tomorrow and see wot they have to say and if they can help me

That's nothing to be pissed off about though mate, as you say once it's rebuilt you've got a proper box in there that should last

Most the boxes will have a crunch in third mate as there a very slow change box and people try to rush them out of second to third and shag the syncros

Well the gear box is out of the car again and I'v been looking into this problem and it's not good it's a comen problem and I'v had two places tell me that I'm looking at about Ł1,000 to sort it . The second place today just dose skylines they did tell me that they have a all singing all dancing gearbox on the shelf for Ł3,500 shit me I all most fell off my chair . Well we have had a good chat and I'm going over to there place tomorrow to pick up a so called good second had gearbox for Ł500 as I just cannot aford Ł1,000 at the mo so I'm going to try a second gear box in the car . But at the same time keep trying to find a cheap way to sort these boxes out . I'v been told of a oil to use witch is very good to help with this problem but that's Ł80 for 4 Lt of it but to be onist the way I see it if it's starting to ware oil is not going to make it all good again . So all being well it should be in the car by the new year . So up to now with 2 gearboxes I'm at Ł1,263

lol, I fitted new synchros into mine when I bought due to the very same problem you guys are having, was nothing like the prices your talking, but then again, I can strip boxes and rebuild them.

iirc a new Nissan synchro ring and hub was something like Ł140.

I went to see a friend the other day who had a skyline front prop for me and he took me for a spin in his 640bhp r32 and feck me that's quick

He said if the syncros are notchy then using the redline shockproof oil transforms the crunchy changes, he swears by it and said it got rid of his crunchy 3rd gear for now

Bit industrial when it's cd with the redline shockproof stuff but felt good once warmed up

Was a couple of years ago, but as far as i know the parts are still available.

Alot of the time you need to give part numbers as most parts people will not entertain you without a chassis number.

Fact is though mate it will crunch eventually and if you use shock proof all it does is make the box as stiff as fuck when cold the even slower changing when hot ! Theres might be strong in these boxes but they can be a bloody hard work with the syncros ! this is one of the reasons I went for a gearkit over the conversion and i do know I have had a could of skylines 2wd and 4wd and both boxes inherit the same shite

Now imagine if it could do that based upon its own control processes.

What about 1~4 switchable transmission maps depending on road conditions?

All available with this box.

As I've said before, I had notchy 3rd and 4th in 600 hp r32 gtr and redline heavyweight oil transformed it, stiff cold but fine once warmed up and I did loads if 0-100 mph in 8 seconds in that car

And my most recent r32 gtr had rebuilt box which was Ł700 and included 3rd/4th carrier and some bearings seals and was a mint box, you should of bought it bud I sold for Ł650

Hi mate I think the old box had redline in it as it was fick and red when I removed the oil and I'v spoke to the chap I had it off and he seems a good lad said it was 100% when he had the box in his car. It's all ways the way when your looking for a part / gearbox there's non to be had but when you don't need one there every ware . I payed Ł500 for the new gearbox but as I'm not using the bell housing off it I'm proboly going to mod it to fit a cosworth so I can help some one out that is doing this mod to there gearbox . And at the same time get some of my Ł back that this mod has cost me .

Hi Andy happy new year to you all so very simpol to be onist . The pump that runs the transfer box has 3 parts to it
1. The pump witch makes 280psi
+ and - 12 volt
2. A presser switch that you run throw a relay to turn the pump off when it hits 280psi
3. A PWM regulator that controls how much presser gose to the transfer box
I'v bort a risister that I can control the PWM regulator with so I can have only 2wd or full 4x4 or just a bit of 4x4 there is lost that can be done to control this box but that's the basics of it
