cheers for the comments all ! last few jobs on th rear now, cut out and replace fuel filler hole as rotten and replace then inner wing and lastly outer wing and lower rear quarter.... then seal it all up ....

nope. but do work from home on a few cars like.... funny you commented mate as I was reading thru your resto my the 3dr only last nite !! looks beautiful... I fancy a crack at one of them or maybe a mk2 rs2000 next .... anyway the arches etc are on now and just need a bit of finishing and prepping.....

so this is where the car is at ..got to finish off a little welding on the underside, seal up here and there then prep and prime and then stone chip time !!

got some paint on her today...
one more coat inside should do it and laquer underside I think as itll bring out the colour better on thr stonechip... and it'll pretect it better...

well the inside is about done now, put one more coat and lacquer on and it looks well... pleased how its turned out and looks pretty much as oe as it did when I first stripped it....bar the holes and the rust !!! lol...

well little update... just been prepping the shell really , and a skim of filler here and there..... the da the rest of the paint then primer then 800 wet flat...
gotta do a few little bits that im not happy with then another coat of primer - 1500 wet then hopefuly be ready for the red.
then the doors and boot....

wooooow,i am seriously impressed.when you first started with it it didnt look that rotten,i recently finished restoring a rotten s2 which was worse looking than your car,but after seeing your resto ill have to say that i merely patched mine up to the best of my ability.youre a brave brave man going to that extreme but i suppose if you have a full floorpan,bulkhead and new inner wings then why waste them,bet you would be handy at slipping a sapphire cosworth floorpan into an escort after seeing what you have done here!

didnt look that rotten when I bought it !!! - thats because it was filled with fibreglass everywhere !!!ffs .. like you say .. its easy when you have the gen panels to go in...

Cheers, celly from factory , so gonna do the same, tho maybe a couple more coats than factory ... as I said before celly is easier for home doods like me and besides I aint got the gear for 2k either..
