My latest runaround, didnt want or need another car but it turned up at the right price local so i had to bid on it off ebay ![Surprised](https://passionford.com/forum/images/smilies/bigcry.gif)
My winter hack, one poverty spec 1300 Orion I won, been cleaning and stripping it ready for paint and a heart transplant
My efforts so far
![](http://img75.imageshack.us/img75/503/1000587.jpg)
This will be my winter runaround, hope to have it completed within a few weeks long as I can find a decent zetec engine to fit to it 8)

![](http://img34.imageshack.us/img34/5107/1000578sbf.jpg)
It wants a few bits of welding on it, but dont they all . . . IMO its a clean one and it was cheap
![](http://img44.imageshack.us/img44/5829/1000583.jpg)
The plans for this one are just a quick respray in red, cheap and cheerful job but should look![Top](https://passionford.com/forum/images/smilies/smile011.gif)
15 inch Steelies or Saff Cossie wheels ( lattice style Wanted, PM me if you have some cheap, budget build )
Slammed, no interior, just the dash and 2 front seats ( probabley fit a pair of cheap Recaros )
The finally fit a Zetec lump in it, ever a 1800cc 130bhp, or a 2000cc 136bhp. I've got a spare RST LSD box that will get chucked in
Still plodding on with the Zetec Turbo build in the other one
![](http://img212.imageshack.us/img212/7126/19thaug200903.jpg)
The rebuild thread . . . https://passionford.com/forum/restor...he-making.html
Cant wait to have it running![Banana](https://passionford.com/forum/images/smilies/banana_dance.gif)
And a pic of SEV which I recently Sold![Sad](https://passionford.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_sad.gif)

Its still a cheap project, its just not staying as sleeper looking as originally planned
![LOL](https://passionford.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_lol.gif)
Its now having a 90's spec RST front bumper colour coded, I've had it lying round for years, so with alittle prep work, should look as new again
My road trip on Fri/Sat clocked up in total 599.9 miles, which was from Crewe to Aldershot, from there to Hornchurch, then to Chelsmford, then to Ipswich and then home via 2 road closures
![](https://passionford.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_evil.gif)
On this trip I picked up a few goodies off club members, a Saff spoiler, some 40mm lowering springs, which will have to be modded, its going on its a**e I think, a 130bhp 1800 zetec lump, rst front brakes, and SEV's old Mondeo wheels!!!

Alittle welding is needed to make it solid again, but for its age its a minter, I just need the days to be longer

I've still gotta get the 90s spec bumper ready for paint and the Saff spoiler . . .
Then drop it off with him in the week, I forgot about the spoiler, hence no holes in the boot, I'll just have to go steady with it when its back to avoid to much paint damage![Big Grin](https://passionford.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_biggrin.gif)
Might even wip the spoiler off the zetec turbo shell and just make a template up off the boot lid holes for ease . . .![Yahoo_35.gif](https://passionford.com/forum/images/smilies/Yahoo_35.gif)
Will bolt straight on then

I asked how was it going on and had he managed to get any primer on the Orion
![](http://img14.imageshack.us/img14/6100/dsc00489ui.jpg)
All the shell is painted, to be flatted and polished tommorrow after inspection.
Just the bumpers, mirrors and spoiler to do, Not bad considering I dropped it off sat morning![LOL](https://passionford.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_lol.gif)
Sorry about the pic quality, doesnt seemed to have sent right to my phone ???

nice work mate, if u need the wiring diagram for the zetec loom will this do you
right, just given rodders the low down and thought id copy the list over to here. basiclly, on the wiring looms, theres a bunch of wires that comes from the main engine loom and connects to the car loom, these are all the wires you need to connect into the fiesta loom! theres a plug there so if posible, chop off 3" or so of the donor cars wiring loom and solder the plug into your fiesta loom, this will enable you to remove the engine loom complete from the car for whatever reason.
the wires on that plug and what they need connecting to are:
black/green = ignition live
brown/green = water temp gauge
black = 4amp ignition live
brown = earth from fuel pump *RELAY*
red = 4amp perminant live
brown/wite = earth
green = revcounter (the revcounter should work as normal with no messing about)
if youre making youre own fuel pump relay cricuit (easiest way) then insulate and disregard the black/red wire.
if you want to make youre own fuel pump relay circuit, its easy! get yourself a relay from halfords or wherever. itll have numbers on the pins which you need to connect up as follows:
87 - perminant live (from battery 30amp fuse if using erst pump)
86 - switchable live (ignition live.....from ignition)
85 - earth (to the brown earth wire mentioned above)
30 - accesory (to fuel pump)
make sure that the fuelpump hosuing isnt in anyway earthed to the car as this will blow the fuse and the pump wont work! ( Embarassed )
you should always use an inertia switch when running an electric pump, you should put this somewhere in the feed to the fuel pump and screw/bolt the inertia switch uprght to the shell, then you will need an earth from the fuel pump to the chassis.
aswell as these wires theres one or two earths in the main engine loom that should be connected up to the shell.
do all that and you should have a working zetec loom!
**the list of wires above are from an escort loom, fiesta and mondeo looms MIGHT be different**

Right, the car comes back tommorrow night . . . wont be any pics though as its just gonna get parked up behind the gates under the carport then off to the next job
Will get on with the rebuild on wednesday evening, so pics then of the shell painted
My work tonight
with a few bits of old bumper and old number plates, managed to fill in some rather big holes a previous owner decided to chomp out to fit a intercooler
![](http://img237.imageshack.us/img237/2752/1000756s.jpg)
Plastic welded up a rather battered 90's spec front bumper so its ready for filling and paint . . . I got given this over 2 years ago, knew it might come in handy one day, just didnt realise how bad it was lol.
However it turns out, its gotta be better . . . and will look 8) on POV
