With those does the air make 4 passes accross the water or the water 4 passes accross the air?
Not looked too closly at phils or loz's. If your looking to buy a new one how much would you want for yours. It might be cheaper for me and handle the smaller power

Nice wheels but why do you insist on painting every thing in such gay colours.
Your engine bay looks like a ferkin Maybeline advert!
Mind you the Ka was designed to appeal to ladies.

Garage19 i see where your coming from as the Ka isnt too everyones taste. i personally think they rock but are a bit rubbish for the shopping as i cant fit the weekly shopping for two in the boot.
Everyone else, cheers for the comments. Bit of progress but now much as ive been on my hols.
Some pics of the rad and new back lights. Ive used a couple of bolts to space the rad downwards to allow boost pipes to run over the top of it. Its a custom spec rad thats twice as deep as the Ka one but fits in exactly the same space. Its also had the extra pipes for the turbo added and the rad top pipe moved for better location.

Looks superb Sy!
But did't you do anything to the driveshaft? It is just standard?
And howabout the gearbox did you modify it inside to handle the BHP? Or is it just standaard except from the welding?

nope the shafts and cvs are standard ka ones at the moment but ive known people snap them with 200bhp but it all depends on how you drive it i guess. Uprated ones will be on the shopping list at some point. The box is standard internals too. Im just going to see how it goes for now and uprate as needed.
Blakey pointed something out too me the other day that would mean you dont even need to weld the box to accept the starter motor! Just use the new duratec box as the starter motor already sits on the front of the engine so is perfect. SportKa box could also be used if you can find a second hand one which is same as the 1300 but with a lower final drive!

Thanks for the quick reply!
But when did the Duratecs kicked in? Was that in 2000? So I kow what I'll need, but maybe i'm just gonna weld, it depends....
Well i'm planning to drive it with 160 BHP, only a superchip... So then it will not be necesary to use another driveshaft?
And howabout the rearbrake conversion, was this the easiest way to do with Focus brakes?
I know lotta questions, hopefully you can answer them!

Not sure when the duratecs came in but it was about 2002-2003 i think.
Shafts should be fine running standard engine and a chip. You can use fiesta diesel shafts if you want to uprate a little as used in the ka rally championship.
The focus rear brakes were a doddle to fit with only minor grinding needed and some universal goodridge brake lines (use focus handbrake cable). Basically just bolt them on and grind the beam a bit for clearance (i ground a bit off the handbrake cable mounting bracket as i didnt was to damage the coated beam. It was cheaper to fit this practically new setup than rebuild the drums and shoes

Lovin the Ka!
Nice to see someone doing something different and so well.
I'm interested to know about your rose-jointed bottom arms as I also intend to do this to my MK4 fiesta. Do you buy them pre-made or are you going to fabricate them?
Also are you going to take it on the track?, surely it would be rude not to!!
keep up the good work
