small update today,,,nothing spectacular
spent half hour round my garage starting mod the front panel so it can be replaced with a removable alloy 1,,,
this will give me alot more room to mount the radiator & intercooler along with allowing it to be installed & removed from the top rather than turbo side which was always a proper headache
here is the front panel removed,,
i left 10 inches either side for the bonnet pins, headlight adjusters & room for the new panel to overlap the old 1
i havent yet cut the lower part out as i want to measure up the width of the intercooler 1st,,,,
will get more when the new alloy panel is in place
then its off on saterday to be repainted inside the bay and interior & have the pedal box put in ect

not managed to get the alloy panel done so will have to wait till after the bodywork has been done,,,,
same with cutting the lower front panel,,il have to wait till the engines in before fitting the rad & cooler & cutting the panel to suit,,
took all the glass out today tho & managed it all on my own without breaking any of it
found my drivers side window runner a bit grotty tho
car is looking proper sorry for itself at the mo ..........
but when it comes back i can start fitting it all back together which will be the beggining of the end

small update,
popped down to see the bloke terry at gifford coachworks who's doing me car because i had to drops some bits off to him so took a few pics while i was there,
nothing major but its all progress
drivers side inner sill was a bit rotten
but turned out to be a hell of alot worse when he got underneath it
heres some of what fell out
the whole lot is being replaced with new panels inner & outer,,,possibly the passenger side too but he aint got to that yet so will wait & see,,
had some grot around the nearside turret so that was cut out, new repair panel welded in & some filler skimmed over & left to dry before prepping
i have also had he holes on the top half of the doors welded up & the front as the carbon doorcards will not cover that high, so they been welded & fillered along with a repair to drivers door from some rust
now onto the brake bias pedals,,
ive gone the whole hog now & had the existing holes welded up & plated ready for the wilwood pedals to be mounted to a bracket that is welded to the bulk head, so no going back to the standard brake set up now
inside the bay has been plated for reinforcing,, then the interior side is being done next,,
hopefuly pics of the pedals all fitted next time i go down there
inside still to be done
thats it for the bodywork for now,,,,more next week maybe
ENGINE UPDATE
dropped my block & head to FMS yesterday as it needs some fettling,
turns out the low comp bottom end i bought is far from low comp
so its being stripped,,pistons sent of to be machined (as there forged items they have plent of meat on them to take off luckily) to lower the comp ratio to around 7:7.1
then its all being built up to go on the dyno
& tommy thinks it will see 280+bhp easy which il be more than happy with
but more on that nearer the time
also forgot to add this a while ago,,new burton quickshift for a mk3 with brand new linkage & stabiliser
thats all folks
