k told me about it when i picked it up ,

however , if its that big a deal im sure a strip of plastic could be profiled and bonded in ,

imo it not a major thing , but as you say attention to detail is the key ,

Grille look's sweet

well done lads

I think Id make the grille supports and bond them in as it may need bracing when that yb is pushing it through the air

ok , yesterdays update .....today 25-6-2011

had a good day yeaterday ... few ups n downs but nothing thats a major drama

so we shall start with the kit .......

take 1 empty garage , 1 special k , and a huge box of materials and primers .....

1 fully sanded to bare plastic kit ...

plastic primer the lot

now a nice lil touch i think weve done ,

where the rear arches , front arches and valance rivit to the body , theres recesses in the s1 kit , these usually tend to be the areas that crack and break , so when repairing them we decided to fill them completely and smooth them off

and then as the kit will be using rivnuts and bolts , i found these funky little cap headed washers instead , bolt in it is simply for to show ya ,

should help spread the clamping force on the kit and look a little different ..

dingla rs turned up for a cuppa

k got suited and booted

spraying ....

so kits all primerd now , barring driver wing mirror cap and spoiler ,

few little niggles, as ive dug in in places when prepping the kit with the da , but k said not to worry ,and it will all be checked flatted , filled and spot primed

so big big thanks to k ,

shell...........

so gaz , sent me thru a load of pictures

cleaned out a few of the rivnut holes where the repairs have been done

and bagged up !!

looking rather clean lol

and primerd !!!

so big thanks to gaz aswell lol ....

and to top yesterday off lol , went to bed a 12 pm to br promptly woke up by anne marie to tell he her waters just broke ..... so ran round like a headless chicken , got to the hozzy , sat in and was assesed for two fucking hours to be told to come home and give it 24 hrs lol

so least my baby waited till i got the primer work out the way !!!

so.....by the end of the weeked i should be a dad lol ,

Beef the tops ones are good value for money - are you set up to take 10" on the rear? would be an interesting look if they'd go on.

I like the CH style too as they have a bit of class about them, i'd considered them for my Golf but settled with 18" BBS RC

this is the thing , we tubbed the rear by 3 inch and with it being linked it can be put anywhere withing the realms of the rear turret and as we set the rear turrets at a angle it gives us added clearace to the top of the inside of the wheel

ohh and it swallowed warrens 9j inside the inner arch lip ,

myself ive never liked the look of the wheel tucked way inside the arch and would rather run them to the face of the kit ,

but before i spend any of my hard earned theres going to be a bit of mocking up done to see if they will fit ,

as said can get the ch's in 8j front 9j rear , off the shelf and really like the look of them would of been nice to go 18s but i reckon id have to shave the arches and after the effort put into them id rather drop to 17s

however i still have my 18x 8.5 j raceline rl7 upstairs to offer in

but i think for handling im going to run 17s ,

and havent seen anyone running bbs ch's on a s1 or any rst for that matter ?? the top ones are becoming like mo's on three doors lol

will deffo be 9+ in the back

Sounds like a plan

Should you not be "nesting" or flapping about man style?

When I went through labour I was all over the place cleaning the house, car, shed you name it it got cleaned, was a blithering wreck!

Soon changes I wasit High fiving postmen and strangers on the walk home from the maternity ward
