obvioulsy with the reecent situation of dad not being well and then passing away , progress has been slow ,
however that all changes now , as this car is my ONLY goal in life till its finished ,
every spare penny , and thing i can do i will so it should start moving along guys !!
jimbo or more rightly harvey gibbs has the pistons , there in for valve cutouts , then its just rings and the bottom end can be assembled ,
should be hearing back in a week or so about a job , and may have a cpl of quid coming my way by mid next month ,
so updates will start coming folks

Cracking project Beefy, I've just got myself a donor Sierra, i have an S2 ERST and all the cossie bits, just need some time to get on with it.
Any chance you could take some close pics of where the bulk heads mate and inner wings mate up, also is the rear floor where the rear bench goes and the inner arches all sierra or is it part escort part sierra. Any pics you could take would be a huge help.

made a start on the sump today , sat looking at it and thought fuck it ,
so chopped two big holes in the sides of it lol ,
going to template the wings up tomorrow and then cut them out of some stock alloy ive got then get a local welder in to button it up ,

Beefy - Just read the thread from the start, considering your obstacles you've done well.
You may remember i bought your old S2, also sorry to hear of your dad, i think he was in when i signed the V5 for the Escort.
Anyway, hang in there. I'm sure this will be quite the weapon!

right guys , money will be coming into the project in the next couple of weeks , so im really exxcited about the project , its ture to say enthusiasm dipped a little but had to get motivated with no money ,
but seeing as cutch has now decided to build a cossies 4x4 s2 ,
the game is deffo on lol !!!
will sort an update very soon ,
as soon as im back from ford fair ,

I'm fine mate. I sold the S2 after about 4 weeks of owning it as you may remember. It just wasnt' for me.
I'm driving a nice family 407 Diesel, but have a GSXR for the silliness.

ok guys just adding a few pics,
mad a start on my own big wing sump ,
so started chopping away , if im not happy with the final result , ill buy one of dougs lol ,
chopped two rather large holes in the sides
then started on making up templates for the wings
then asked jacko for a hand ??
then as i was waiting on the alloy plate to mark out the templates onto
i thought id do the only thing i do best
once templates are cut out , ill speak to allister our alloy welder , get a price and have it welded up asap ,
ford fair this weekend then will have more updates folks ,

ok folks so its update time and alots been going on today , !!!!!!
first of all this happend
my interior arrived at jackos
its the optional upgrate found in the mk 1 focus st 170 came in as a whopping £1200 pound extra from ford ,
i paid £ 150 sovs
the front seats were immeadiatly dispatched to the local auto trimmers to have the airbags cut out and re stiched up the seam ( where there desinged to split when the airbag deploys)
i should have them back midweek at a bargain of 80 quid
the rear bench will be stripped off the focus panels and re-upholsterd to mk4 bench set up ive yet to find a really good condition rear banch but as soon as i do these will go down to the auto trimmers , all in all i should have a full recaro leather interior with heated drivers option
for 450 quid all in ,
then with that out the way ,

a big thankyou to jacko , been a while coming but hopefully the project will start moving with some pace now
anyway once she was in we attacked the front end
removing the rest of the original wings
i set to removing the doors
and lost track of what i was suppose to be doing
but then jacko soon put me to work ,
started removing the sealer to see what was underneath
the original plan was to bare matal the inner wings by hand with the grinder , but upon further investigatioooon . its aparent some of the welding is not up to karl and daves standards , so its going to be sandblasted
by then dave had removed the offending old front sheet metal
the old front crossmember will be removed and a new custom one will be fitted ,
if anyone had a fucked rs500 cooler they dont need could i borrow it for mocking up purposes ??????
few of the back inner arches that have been stonechipped
once that was done the shell was then put to one side , tomorrow it will be set to once again ,the idea being remove as much of the thick sealer they used by grinder/wire brush , to make it eaiser when it goes of to sandblasting ,
the entire floorpan ,inner arches ,engine bay , and inside the floor will be blasted so all the important welding can be inspected and sorted ,
ohh and seeing as my 2wd rear beam made the journey aswell
i decided to strip out the diff and shafts , as it will be going bk in to check the rears allignment ,
diff and shafts will go home till there ready for refurbishment ,
beam will stay with the car for now ,
on a sub note i also collected more rebuild parts from matt lewis , in 90% there with the parts needed to build the motor but with a spec change in the wings it will be held off till i decide the plan
ohh yeah and whilst on our way to the auto trimmers a f plate mk 4 bonus was spotted at a local scrappy , so we popped in for a nosy , and far to sat shes a minter , got the usual scrappy dinks n dents but 100 original and complete interior , ect , so tomorrow this will be bought stripped for all the parts,clips trim i need and then weighed in for scrap to recoup ,
