if your not modifying the shell to accept the seats then the seat bases should be the last thing on your mind, building the shell/running gear is your priority, you need a measured approach to this or it will end up sold on as the work/ costs mount up..
believe me been there got the t shirt..

steve i do have a measured approach ,
the seat , steering , heater box ,wiper motor, new willwood bias pedal box are all going in to be mocked up , there all there waiting to go in
granted the seat is not the be all and end all right now , but i want it in to make sure it sits low enough for me , the alot taller in the base being st 170 focus seats
regards the running gear , i have the top mounts ajdustable tca, comp struts , crossmember , rack ect all sat there ,
just need to start my new job and buy the coilovers,
once ALL the front is welded up and everything fits ,
ill start on the rear , but seeing as the custom cradel is being made to suit the rear ,
barring modification to the wheel well , removal of the rst rear arm bracket ,and mods to the rear turrets ( already having new towers made up as we speak by a mate )
the rolling and suspension is all there and in hand ,
my issue is making sure the components on the bulkhead fit and work properly
youve seen the car , the exterior needs minamal prep , new front panel wings to go on ,
if i had some spare cash it could be alot further on right now ,
ill bet you a icy cold pint of bulmers shes rolling and in primer for central day ,
but as always i do value yours and folks opinons , i am novice to the pitfalls of big projects ,

update 15-01-10
right folks as i mentioned the other day , all mine and karls ( when he helps as hes not stop atm ) attention has been to button up the top section of the bulkhead panel , and finish the welding down the inner wings ,
well today saw plenty of trimming of the top bulkhead panel the width from the oe spotwelds to the vertical section of the mk 3 bulkhead we left in was around 40 mm too deep ,
soooo,
first off ,i cut off the cosworth fuse box apature ,this will be plated over anyway or made smaller to accept the mk 3 fuse box
then after a fair bit of trimming a test fit
lil bit more finessing ??
almost there !!
re alligned with the original spotweld marks
obviously the sierra heater box area inclines upwards to the back ,
this shows the difference in hight with the or mk 3 escort panel
this will be marked and cut away before there welded ,
and how i left it before i had to pitch in with other project
so thats were i left it today , will pick it up again monday morning as have other commitments during the weekend
ohh and after some consideration a new mk 3 battery tray will be fitted opposed to the sierra on , i think it will follow the bulkhead better and im not really a fan of how the cos one juts out ,
finalise when we set the tray in and offer a battery in the gap ,

why not relocate the battery now you have the opportunity mate
as for postage, let me see what we can do, he's got one and i've got one, just don't use the granada ones because even though they do fit, they are about half an inch longer at the front end so would need a it of spacing and longer bolts which means it's a bit wobbly at the front
but you can cut and shut them if you get some, and they;ll be easiler to get hold of than sierra ones

dojj to the rescue again lol
at the mo mark i havent decided was looking at gaz or avo's
any opinions fella ???
yeah and this is the thing , im trying to make the bay look factory fitted ,but in essence its higly modded , never going to be perfect ,
i was contemplating mounting the remote resoviors from my willwood pedal box there
the gud thing at the mo is i can get the whole lot welded in smoothed and a coat of primer , and weigh up my options
im just happy to see this in , its always been a concern of mine during the build ,
but as ive found all along this build sometimes you got to stop worrying and just get cutting
its only metal after all lol
