ive been thinking v8 in a mk1 fez for a giggle, and after driving the jensen interceptor S (www.jensensales.com) yes i agree with beefy, LS2 is the way FORwarD! 6.0 430bhp on tap without fear of breaking it! gotta be done! even if you left it on the gm autobox its quick to say the least. and in a light series 1? then supercharge it like the iirc LS9???? 600bhp+ could be messy!!!!!!

well im growing ever more dispondant at the mo that im ever going to finish , seems like an eternaty since the fab work stopped ,and realistically i reckon its going to be another month at this rate ,
i did contact a mate who has a unit local to us about the possability of renting some space ( no leccy at mines the killer )
but our wire muct of been crossed as you cant make any mess or noise at his place pmsl
anyway , ive dropped wenny a txt to see if he can help , hes on hols atm but he always seems to come thru for me ,
idea is get bk on with prepping the shell, the rear floor needs cutting out and cleaning , clean up and oixde all the welded areas , and genrally do what i can till karls ready ,
its this ,
or just sell the fucker , be done with all the stress and headache and go buy a bike ,
beef

Beef,
I no how you feel matey, my 106 cosworth has been away for over 2 years, i have thrown thousands at it and i meen thousands, not including buying the car in the first place, but i still persist with it! Got it moved to AG so lets hope they can bring the spark back, im adamint the car will be sorted for start of next year! if not then quite possibly it will be broke, its been far too long.

I've been lucky enough to drive both v8 and yb powered cars...the v8's being a z06 and an s8
For me,I love a roaring big thirsty v8.they feel big and powerfull right the way through the rev range and I think the noise is second to none! + they're equally at home trundling slowly around town with masses of lazy low down grunt!
I do however own a cossie and I love the thing to bits, there's something about the sound of a yb on full chat that just really does it for me aswell!
For me,if I were using the car everyday I would go v8 but it ain't my car so it boils down to personal preference mate

cars just a sunny day and summer toy ,
think wer going to go the yb route for the now , as aint really an rs without one ,
this missus had the great idea of build it with the yb , show n feature it , then if i aint happy , take it out , sell the lot n v8 it ,
right now i just want the shell prep done asnd hopefully have it painted by christmas
the majority of the suspension components are there now so would soon be a roller , same with interior and engine and transmission ,
im just in a cctch 22 of i need the parts to mock up ,,so i cant clean n paint them for them to get scratched for me to have to do it all again!!

hope you carry on m8 as it will be worth the time effort and money spent as it would be a bigger kick in the testicles for you to see someone else finish it and drive her about

build a V8 out of 2 yb's and have the best of both worlds
you can use some of that jd weld stuff to glue the blocks together, spin one of the heads the other way around to get the gasses going the other way and it's a goer ![Top](https://passionford.com/forum/images/smilies/smile011.gif)
or you could have put the v8 in the boot and made it rwd that way![Top](https://passionford.com/forum/images/smilies/smile011.gif)
or even stick the yb in the front and the v8 in the back and make it 4wd![Top](https://passionford.com/forum/images/smilies/smile011.gif)
or put the engine on a trailer and use some big uj's to send the power through the tow hitch![Top](https://passionford.com/forum/images/smilies/smile011.gif)
or put an engine in the middle and bolt some rotors to the top and turn it into a helicopter, no issues with parking then when you take it to silverstone for ford fair next year, arriving in style![Top](https://passionford.com/forum/images/smilies/smile011.gif)
the last one is the simplest way to go, you just cut a hole in the roof with a tin opener

Dont give up Beefy, i had a mk1 escort that i gave up on after doing loads and loads of welding. One day i was so disillusioned with it i scrapped it and i have regretted it ever since. Better to forget it for 6 months then come back with loads of new ideas.
