Rod, I fully appreciate that, however now that Mark knows the specs that work surely if someone else turned up with a car and asked for it to be the same as yours then it could be done at less than 80k??

I am not trying to start a war here I just don't see what could cost 80k as the power is in Mark's specifications rather than parts that cost the earth no? Or am I missing something and your crank is worth 20k, pistons 5k etc etc???

Having seen this car grow and grow and having done a similair thing with a Volvo 850 i can see where the money goes.

Good luck rod

Mark fixed that price not me. .

And how may i ask does the rest of the car stand up to taking 1000bhp. Engines probably around 22k max i guess. box/transmission/diff/clutch 7.3k shafts are Ł600 alone. Nitrous over 2k with push, exhaust 2k , Fuel system 1.6k & the Autronic with 15V Jacobs amp & cdi 3k+. Fabrication 4k brakes 2.5k Wheels/tyres 2k+ . Cage not sure but i have a odds & sods budget which buys all the little bits of Ł7019 thats over 50k & i aint even scratched the surface on the interior etc. 80K would be a bargain I rekon.

I havent added it up but the engine set up and turbo/manifold would be around Ł25k.

80k that is a bargain! There cannot be many cars you buy that sort of performance for so cheaply!

Good luck with the top speed run guys! Can't wait to see the results.

I remember a graph showing performance against a Mclaren F1 and your old old spec was better in some ways against it.

How do you think the 0-200 will stand up against say a Mclaren F1, Veyron or one of the top supercars now?

Also how many minutes will a tank last?

Now that's a good question. Veyron is about 12 mins to empty tank I think

However....

How could it possibly cost 80k?? Do you mean all your conversions included???
I reckon it could. It really is a unique car, and the real cost is in R&D, doing the 2nd, 3rd, etc gets progressively cheaper. Pushing the boundaries is a lot more expensive than an "average" 500 bhp conversion. I'm sure Martin said his car came to about Ł70k cost - Ł120k ish including labour in one thread.

Hope the car does all you want from it Rod.

Spent a day on the car today hopeing to get the inlet side all done, Soon realised that the Nitrous pulsoids had to move & be repiped as the new inlet changes a few things, managed to get that sorted & inlet back on & the injectors were sent to be flow tested. The Loom was designed around an RS500 plenum so expected a few probs but all fitted except for the TPS plug which i will have to extend. Should get the inlet side sorted tomorrow & get started on the Turbo side. Aint scratched anything yet, but give me time .

Well cars been back 2 weeks & ive put over 30hours in so far & I guess im about 50% done. Cant do anything next week as im doing other things so I guess im 3 weeks away from finishing. Mark still has to do a fair bit on it but no ramps are clear at the mo so its rather slow progress. Central Day is 50 days away so that still looks possible but my record of making deadlines aint good . Whats done looks really good & i wont rush to see an early finish.

Not working on the car this week but still things i can do, tomorrow going to Zercotec to get my waste gate pipe coated, it looks great all polished but he who will be obeyed has said its got to be coated so its going tomorrow. Mark suggested next Monday is the first chance he will have to start on my car, lets hope so .

Picked up the coated waste pipe today but not sure when I can fit it, maybe mid next week. Progress on my car is about as exciting as watching paint dry . Getting a bit worried about making Central Day as the suspension needs to be taken off & returned to Leda & im sure that will take more time than we can afford. Have 40days to make Central Day whats my chances. .

Still dying with 'MAN' flu , but did start taking advice on best way to sort my coilovers, Black Art Designs (BAD) , are getting the nod hopefully they will be removed from the car before the weekend. Must admit im getting sidetracked by the new Zircotec Ceramic material ive ordered some & new heat shields look on the cards . Surprised to see this stuff being made available away from military purposes.
The Missus said i need a Holiday so has fixed up a week in Norfolk isnt that patrolled by Mike & his boys id better be aware of my standards up there.

Still hopeing for Central Day but im not looking for my baseball cap just yet.

I have always prepared the car Jimbo & ive still a fair bit to do. Mark has to sort the Brakes, Clutch & take off the suspension, its been there a month & their has never been a free ramp, my deal with Mark is that it dont effect his normal customers. Its a 40mile trip for me & ive not felt up to it so time is just slipping away to get it ready for Central Day.

At your age Jimbo would have finished car on week 1 & out sha**ing women until Central Day . Now i hope i have enough strength at the end of the day to drink my Horlicks .

Joking aside i felt loads better today & ventured to Marks & did a few hours on the car. Changed every hose clip for new ones, fitted Throttle Bracket & Cable. Refitted Breather & fitted new Plug Leads. Inlet side now done. Working on an Anglia & a Astra tomorrow for Mark so will be next week before starting on the exhaust side.
Mark haspromised the Blitz on mine starts on Monday with suspension off, then Brakes, Clutch & Power steering pipes on the List.
I still have to drop/remove the Petrol Tank to calibrate it.

Worked on the car today the first Saturday since February 2006 when it came off the road . Needed to reposition the Power Steering tank to clear the Hart inlet & this had a knock-on effect on the Nitrous which has also been re-located.
At this point the car went up on the lift & the suspension will be taken off on Monday & sent away to be sorted. During next week the Brakes, Clutch & Power Steering (thats moved to other side of engine) will hopefully all be sorted. Thts not the end but it will see the car on the home straight .
