Im not sure of exact sizes but Mark/Pete at Spec-r are dealing with the solution.

Well its confirmed on another thread, Martin is going to have a crack at beating my old girls Topspeed, so i have to make plans to hold on to it so im changing my Turbo, already have the turbine but its never been fitted, as 838bhp seemed enough . Spoke to Mark tonight, Going to order exhaust housing for it on Monday from the States. Ive waited over 41/2 years to get Martin to have a bash, pity it aint the Escort but Hey!! its a challenge for the Fastest Ford title i guess. .

If need be I have 200bhp in a bottle as plan 'B' .

Maybe but gains will be small cos other limits have been reached, this new Turbo is more about spooling, it can make as much Power as a GT45 but will spool quicker than a GT42 tests show its 15% more efficient than a normal turbo due to its unique blades (also has more blades) & its far more robust. Dont think a Cosworth has ever used one of these, its exhaust housing is massive , the one we had on the Dyno had a full race housing & could not be fitted because it was too big & hit the head .

Have decided to fit a few carbon bits to spruce things up as i no longer can keep it looking standard. Will have boot spoiler, Numberplate surround, Front splitter, grille & Morrette surrounds done in carbon this is purely for cosmetics.
Not sure if Mark has a date for the intercooler core yet as its coming from the States so completion is still a long way off. Have abandoned having it ready for Ford Fair & can only hope it makes National Day in September i hope it will but aint banking on it .

If your going for these bits it would be a shame to not get the C pillar covers as well, Mike R has them on his site

I assume so.

It means at least that the RS Cosworth record looks like it may stand for some time to come & thats all I claim for my car. In fact if you read the plaque on my old girl it claims to be the fastest Sierra RS Cosworth nothing more.
You cant really have a record across cars with different bodies cos of aero-dynamics. A 500bhp double decker bus would have a bit of trouble beating a 500bhp Porsche down Brunters.

personally have 2 ambitions still left to achieve before i quit & thats to push the RS Cosworth record past 212mph & also to hold the record for 5 years & unbelievably thats up on the 16th September 2009.

Hi Rod

I think the figures you and Mark have got your car to earn you great respect the world over if Martin wants to try to beat you then he should run against your car and not keep talking about it, your record has been nowhere near beaten for nearly 5 years that says enough good luck Rod

Maybe in the near future !!

The GT42 that made 810bhp certainly is, that single run on the Dyno is its only useage. It was one of the three we tried.

HI

Can confirm that my intercooler core is on their way from the States.

Given a choice of three to cope with 925,950 & 1000bhp. The smallest of the three is the 1000bhp one because its a for more efficient core but its also more expensive as the best usually is. I was ordered by Mark to cough up for the expensive one in fact ive bought 2 the other for a very special project that will be revealed in the future.

Still no progress on my new Turbo, but it will be sorted before the car returns to MAD.

getting carried away with the carbon bits going to buy lots of bits & fit what looks good & sell on the other bits.

Still aiming for making RS National day but lots to do including a bodywork makeover.

Actually its all OFF which is Russ's gripe, Martin & his groupies tend to forget all the spouting when his Escort came out " Set to break all records" stated in his own mag Reyline. Dont think it beat any records & certainly never in a million years was it capable of beating a 20 year old road car owned by a short assed, senile old fart. Showed a complete lack of understanding of just how good that record was & when its past 212mph as it will be it will take a 1000bhp to beat it. 210 has got to be done off gas to prove that what is said behind our backs about our Dyno figure are stuffed firmly up their asses.

Rod I didn't write the headline that Redline used, hell I didn't even read it until the same time as everyone else and its not MY magazine at all . They even wrote that I would run the length of Santa Pod naked if it didn't do 200mph, did I know about that too... No I didn't

Maybe we all like to forget some things that we spout eh?? I do recall yourself continually spouting that my engine would never run full boost and that if it did failure would be the price... I'm sure you also harped on about the engine would be unreliable too.

Anyhow less of the crap and lets see this car do 210 off gas

Btw your self description is perfect

Im confused having only seen this thread and not read redline mag.

Are you both intending to do a 200+ shootout or not?

From the outside looking in (An ex rs owner who just reads the boards with interest) It seems you two are like football hooligans (Pavement dancing without any punches landed) or at least Rod seems to have the balls to throw the punches but Martin swerve's and dodge's them.

This is not a blatant wooden spoon post just a curious board reader who see's it as it is without being attached to a tuning camp

Can someone sumarise whats happing or not?

I suspect stuff goes on behind the scenes between these two?!

Respect to both as i caould only dream of having cars that fast but clarity would help!

Two 1000bhp Intercooler cores arrived in the post today. Will take them to Spec-r on Wednesday so he can build them up. Lots being done, Rad, Turbo Cooler, New Breather pots & all new pipes, air-ducting & im probably going to get a 1off K&N as big as possible to fit when everything else is bolted up. Do it right so it only needs to be done once .

The unit is 10% bigger but laid out diff, So the workshop space is slightly smaller so trying not to have as many projects on the go at once.
We are hoping to get the car back for the end of the month then realy go to town on it to finish up the little odds and sods.

Quite simply Garret make the best bar and plate intercooler cores and this is what we want to use, And these are the lastest spec Garrett cores.
