ive made a mock up wide kit using the escort x pack and preformed fibreglass thats £39 for a 8x4 foot sheet hope that helps mate you could make up the gaps by studying the pics of the real group 5 kit its not too far off from the shape i added another 7 inches and fibreglassed it from the inside cheers brooki [img=http://img159.imagevenue.com/loc435/th_48241_wide_arch_023_122_435lo.jpg]

Bloody Hell Andy,
You weren't kidding when you said you were ripping the arches out after Rally Day.
Those new arches look quality mate.
What happening on the kit front have you found anyone else yet who can provide you with them?
See you at the next pub meet mate. Keep up the quality work

the group 2 kits are still available through retro motorsport but i prefer the group 5 zakspeed kitits much more in your face &yes im hoping it will beo on the road b4 al,s car he is taking it a bit slow isnt he .
ps i will probably be making my own wrc style rear suspension as well so i can get some serious rubber on the road & stupid low to with out huge amounts of camber so keep watching .
pps no progress this week as i crushed my baby finger & the end popped with fatty meat hanging out of it yesterday today i burnt my arm ,& tomorrow im having a minor op on my index finger cos when i put it through a band saw ive now got nail growing out the back of my finger ,but ill get on with it asap.

right heres tonights update my op got cacelled so i spent all day on the car & made good progress
so this is attempt no 1
Name: 08102009418.jpg

note how wide the strut tower is at top

this is attempt no 2

Name: 08102009421.jpg
Views: 288
Size: 66.2 KB
note how much narrower the top of the strut tower is ,so now i can get an extra 60mm of rubber on the inside with out rubbing.

Size: 60.4 KB

Name: 08102009419.jpg
Views: 273
Size: 81.8 KB

this is it all seam welded & etch primed
Name: 08102009430.jpg
Views: 314
Size: 60.3 KB

then i started to trim up the n/s ready to put strut tower in first i seam welded the chassis leg then i tacked the strut tower in

Name: 08102009425.jpg
Views: 296
Size: 71.6 KB

Name: 08102009423.jpg
Views: 320
Size: 73.1 KB

Name: 08102009424.jpg
Views: 286
Size: 73.7 KB

then i cut the spare wheel well out cos it was a bit crusty
Name: 08102009428.jpg
Views: 282
Size: 80.8 KB

Name: 08102009429.jpg
Views: 280
Size: 73.6 KB

Name: 08102009427.jpg
Views: 290
Size: 134.7 KB

& just out of curiosity i weighed all the crap i cut out how about a whopping 56 kilo,s & by the time its all painted i should of put about 16 kilo,s back in so quiet a good saving i think more updates tomorrow peeps.
