right small update i got a parcel through the door today my new wiper assembly turned up as i am going back to the standard two wiper set up as the single arm set up is so 90,s
the reason i am going back to two blades is because i am a lanky twat & the single arm could not reach the bit i look out i.e. the top right corner ,so im going back to whats best
ha ha thats a million dollar question , i got it in primer last new year so maybe i will get it painted by this new year .i have not really put a time scale on it but this new year would be nice but im not going to rush it .
Andy, what seam sealer would you recommend? What did you use on richies ka? Overpaintable of course,
I'm using acid 8 etch primer if that makes a difference
Cheers
isnt acid 8 rattle can etch primer which is good but expensive compared to spray gun etch which 1 litre will do every thing you need doing at same price as 1 rattle can ,i used sika flex on richies ka & tiger seal on my escort both stick like shit to a blanket .

Yeah well this is it, and like you say you got to do the right thing. See the Sierra motor swap, I take it that motor is more powerfull?

not sure if its more powerful or not it just made sense to fit a newer sierra one over a 33yr old escort one & apart from that the car is all ready wired for the sierra one .
Yes mate it is rattle can etch and yes it's Ł12 a can for 450ml but I have no compressor and at the mo can't afford a decent one so for now il use some rattle cans as certain parts need doing now and when I have a compressor I can get the 1 litre can of acid 8 for a spray gun and carry on etc
Il get some tiger seal then I think if I can get brushable, been told to dab the brush into some thinners before hand so it's easier to brush on etc

I hear ya on the compressor situation, in exactly that situation right now. The U-Pol aerosols are actually very good (for an aerosol). Also if you are just doing bits here and there a spary can is handier.
As for the sealer, you get it in a tube for a mastik gun, squirt it on, spread with finger, wipe on sleeve, job done

Oh come on Andy, have you never heard of sticking with the original parts of the car

the best way to put the tiger seal on is get a half inch paint brush ,cut the bristles down to around 3/4" long use as little amount of sealer as possible start from one end of joint & brush in 1 direction in one smooth stroke ,you should get a nice neat joint
