My 2.1 Zetec Turbo 16v Build
Got most parts together now, just waiting on some machining and i'll take pics and do a "diary" of the engine build as we go
Heres a few parts;
Nice Rover 820 inlet manifold....side entry so no boost pipes accross the rocker cover, also port shape is almost exactly the same as the zetecs, (as opposed to using a CVH EFi inlet where the port shape is wildly different). Will be modded to accept an EECIV throttle body soon, I will ahve to CAD & Laser Cut a few plates to allow it to fit, no worries
3 Layer Metal "WRC" type Headgasket.
86mm Mahle Forged Pistons, will be fitted to standard, but shot peened Zetec E conrods
More pics soon as soon as i pickup the block, exh manifold adapter plate, rover inlet adapter plate, rocker cover etc.

Reading up on Phils projects, this will be most powerful rs turbio in the world cause by ther time he builds it, this will be the only rs turbo in the world. This project will have been runing that long they will have to use carbon dating to verify when it started
Get this built for once and all

Yep, as PJay said, its away being bored and honed
Tony.....fuck off
Management is fitted to the car now, just waiting for the block to arrive back (now been told end of this week ) and i'll get it started.
Gives me a few days to get the adapter plate to fit my rover inlet to my head to be CADd and Laser Cut

Thanks folks, the gasket is from Ford About Ł28 i think (FINIS: 1105772).
Block is still at the machine shop (only a 2man band, and one of them is on the sick...they are very busy, doh ...the quality is well worth the wait though).
Heres a few pics of my PUKKA cam cover Big thanks to Craig N for sorting it out, its awesome, metalic Cadury purple, pics really dont do it justice, the flek is actually much finer and less noticable than it appears in the picture, lovely blue/purple flip.....wont stay clean for long, lol.
More pics soon as i sort my inlet (and adapter plates), etc, block back early next week as are pistons n rods.....

Cheers people
Ive done a little more work on the head/inlet side of things....
Take the previously mentioned Rover 820 manifold and chop the end off...why? Because it looks shit. No reason I can see why you cant keep it and use the rover TB, may foul the coilpack, but ive not looked!
Using a gasket as a guide, make up a nice ally plate to be welded onto the end of the plenum, for moutning our throttle body
Rape a friend/neighbours/strangers fiesta inlet manifold. Steal the Throttle Body and the Fuel Pressure Regulator.
As you can see, the Rover Reg (on the left) is non adjustable, therefore we use the FRST's Weber adjustable regulator
Not all plain sailing though, the mounting bracket is different between Rover/Weber, luckily, the Rover fuel rail has a nice big block of ally we can drill and tap into to mount the Weber item
Why people use FRST inlet manifolds on Zetecs I dont know, check the nicely matching port shapes
This is why we use the Rover manifold
Hope this helps some of you lot as I know theres a few of you doing the same thing, or plan to do the same thing...will update soon when I get my block back (onday, maybe, never ....the quality is worth waiting for! )

Thanks Simon
My ECU:
Management will be SECS S8 .....currently fitted to my car, its the tits dont ya know .
Hopefuly to take advantage of the Antilag on it (haha, in a FWD car ), propper mapping, propper trick ECU, works well with my mix and match of EECIV sensors, Coilpack and Cosworth low impedance injectors. Biggest thing the ECU has that will really benefit my car I think is the closed loop boost control, mapable Hopefully it'll make our lives easier trying to put the power down
Was gunna wait until I had a picture (I lost the ones I took at your office ), but since you asked

ALS- yum yum
Phil- do you know at what point the vauxhall pistons start to reach their limit in terms of boost/power??, and what alternatives are there- can find JE, and Ross but only in the states!!
cheers matey!

Cheers lads, wiill post a few more pics tommorow, have my block back now....and a pic in 5mins of my Zetec Exh Man Adapter plate
Rolls....buy from the states, the exchange rate is MINT
Also, if you buy US ones, you MUST use Focus Zetec R rods, due to their "zetec" pistons being for the focus engine.
