The 1300 or so lbft of torque that would generate, is probably a little more than Lee requires at this stage

You really need to just give in, go SM4, and fit a GT3071, it would be as quick as stu's then, and you'd do the whole lot for about 3K, which on top of what you have already spent, is fuck all anyway

I fooked up a bit there....

ragging the ass off the T34 is just going to create Charge temp probs.

soooo...

CHIP YOU WERE RIGHT ALL ALONG. I APOLOGISE.

doh!

Its not like Rich didnt do all the hardwork proving it first on standard engine either is it!

DOUBLE DOH!

least I didnt buy a really expensive T34.... whoopsy!

Does this sound familar

"I'll NEVER want more than 350bhp anyway"
"yes you fucking will"
"no, not in this car, it doesnt need it"
"yes it does"

I think the big mistake you made, was you TOTALLY underestimated Stu!

You never imagined for 1 minute that car would be anywhere near as good as it is when you got it back from him.

How it handled before, 350 would have been too much, so you were right on the old car, but your car now, just isnt the same car at all!

PS

I needs a proper roll cage too.

If you crash that thing at the speed it gets to now on that 1km straight, the people in it will probably die IMHO

Lee,
Shame you ordered the brakes, you should have gone for these 6-pot badboys, they can handle 285mm discs behind THIRTEENS!

The calliper is also of Monoblock construction, so will have absolutely no felx (unlike the Wilwoods ). And for your information (as I know you slate them still), Hi-spec supply Radical, Oakly Design (the Porsche peeps ), Ginetta, Westfield and Caterham .

Just think what size disc you COULD have had .

I still haven't perfected the handling on mine (the rear is too stiff, hence why it was cocking a wheel), so will be fun when we are next out with softer springs and better ARB location .

Mike you soooo missed my Badge snob joke about the brakes!!!! Neil got it as it was a thread of PH before about his car when previous owner did it.

285mm will be plenty I reckon.

Out of interest. Pm a price.

Thinking about it yes mate. Probably makes more sense to take the 911 though....

Fuel tank on Westy is very small and its a long way... and a pain keeping on having to stop and strap in again and again and again!

Will look at weather forecast nearer time before making a decision.

Westy would be amazing round the ring IMHO, far more fun than just being yet another porsche there.

I really think you need to think seriously about cages though, the type that the caterham racers use preferably, the ones that stopped people from reguarly dieing in cars with half the power of yours?

Something like this:

If you skidded in your car either through your own fault or trying to avoid someone else who has made a mistake first, and you get t boned by a normal car, you will DIE in your westy, add a cage like that, and you will just be hurt.

Look how lightly martin got off in morocco due to his cage!

You really are an idiot continuing to use that car without one (says the hypocritic bloke who borrowed it and loved it )

Seriously Lee, think about it properly, NOT just based on fashion, but based on the very real possibility of a serious accident at 100mph+

Indeed mate, it really does make you think a bit, I was SO lucky that it didnt happen on the pit straight, me and fatboy would have been hitting the barrier at about a buck twenty if it had as I wouldnt have had the chance for the sort of evasive action that I was able to take where it did happen.

Motorsport is dangerous of course, but even more so in a ill prepared car, and from a safety point of view, yours is currently very ill prepared (awesome in most other aspects though!)

I really think you should get that mate, seriously.

Lee,
The brake kit is not cheap, and I made a mistake, it's 290s that they can feet behind the 13s . RRP is Ł1,322.50 (obviously I can do you a bit of a deal). If you were interested, you would need to send a wheel and get Stu to advise me what front hub arrangement your car has (as the Westie's allegedly use a few variants). We could then see what is the absolute largest that could be fitted .

Thanks for info Neil. I got that from Westfield this morning.

Me and Stu are gonna get matching ones so I will leave it all to him. He has done a good job so far!

I'll tell him to give Greg a call. Thanks....

Be VERY interested in getting him to drive it as well actually. Bet that would be totally and utterly mindblowing experience!

Who you calling fatboy ?
I have potential muscle.
When we hit the drainage ditch at 100+mph and were airbourne at least I helped keep the car the right way up.
Would have been more fun if we were in a westy.

Joking aside, there is probably an element of truth in that, if I was in it on my own it may well have come down more on my side and dug in!

Rainbum! got the flat tyre fixed! you were right it was a loose valve. thanks mate

GREAT bit of kit guys the tyre moniter that Mike sells!

How cool is my mum...

she took the car down the local tyre place all on her own! Its a pretty fearsome car and has no reverse gear at the moment, no windscreen, roof or doors and ALOT of power!!!!

I dont know many 63 year old women that would do it all on her own! its a pig to get out of the garage for a start!!!!

She just sent me this pic!

Name: mum.jpg
Views: 43
Size: 61.5 KB

she even got it done for free as the guys thought it was so funny seeing her drive it!

Mummy Manning ROCKS!
