Very nice, so where exactly does the blower mount on the inlet? I thought it was like the Jackson Racing supercharger converison? Any detailed pics of it?

It's a complete replacement for the inlet manifold mate - basically, the supercharger is behind the block, the snout holds the pulley wheel under the alternator, then it comes up and feeds onto the head like the standard manifold - very neat setup

Thanks for the kind words guys

Cheers mate

Might not make massive numbers like some of the Cossie boys - at the end of the day most people are topping these chargers out at around 290bhp and there's no easy way of increasing from there sadly

Busy?! Understatement of 2009 dude

Think i'm going to have to pull out of Bedford - not prepared to rush this and make any mistakes - if i can get it all done, dusted and shaken down for RSOC Central Day at the pod i'll be happy

As well as the design allows...

Seriously - to run an air to air intercooler setup (my personal preference) would probably free up some power but is virtually impossible to do on this particular setup.

The powerworks kit was designed as a 'bolt on' solution and it works well, don't get me wrong...

But i did find i was getting high ACTs on track - one of the reasons i've changed the spec to try and get the engine to make the same power at less boost - i.e 14psi at 50 degrees gives the same power as 10psi at 30 degrees...

Nowt ventured, nowt gained

Yeah I know the kits a bolt on jobbie, But Just wondered actually how well it does perform, as it looks small.

How big is the radiator? Could you not run a water box in the car filled with ice for track?

The chargecooler rad can be seen under the numberplate in the pic below - can't get it much bigger!!!

Will - have a look at extra pumping capacity - ideally u want to generate pressure in the system - it has a signficant effect on getting the heat out of the chargecooler core.

Rick.

Yeah, been looking into fitting a 'Craig David' electric water pump as a secondary booster - tempted to see how well the new head flows frst
as i suspect i'll have superior air flow. That could well see a reduction in boost pressure and air temps accordingly...

Apologies for updates being slow progress - been working some ridiculous hours recently, but hey - overtime is no bad thing!
Found a few minutes to mock out a few more bits for the nitrous - joyous task of working out what i control, what the nitrous maximiser controls and what the ECU controls - making sure it's consistent and repeatable is the plan!

What compression do you plan on for your pistons Will?

Also where did you get your cat cams ground?

Doing great work!! That N2O is going to be a blast!!

Expecting to run between 9.8:1 and 10.2:1 depending on how much gets decked off the block and the head before final assembly.

CAT Cams were done through Quality Engineered Products (QEP) - i can get you contact details if required!

Yeah - hopefully the gas will ice the cake - i might even run it on track for the straights

Righty - managed to get a bit done on the dash today!

Started by removing the inside of the surround - this was a LONG and painstaking job, let me assure you!

From this:
Name: Image003-2.jpg
Views: 248
Size: 95.7 KB

To this:
Name: Image004-2.jpg
Views: 263
Size: 112.3 KB

Then time to cut the carbon surround to sit behind it:
Name: Image006-2.jpg
Views: 241
Size: 77.0 KB

Which then looked a little like this!
Name: Image005-2.jpg
Views: 239
Size: 73.6 KB

And when the tape came off:
Name: Image007-2.jpg
Views: 232
Size: 82.3 KB

Then time to finish the surround off and paint it:
Name: Image011-2.jpg
Views: 235
Size: 51.8 KB

Decided the black backing was better on the AEM gauge:
Name: Image009-3.jpg
Views: 243
Size: 80.6 KB

Semi finished article:
Name: Image012-1.jpg
Views: 233
Size: 77.9 KB

More to come soon hopefully!
