Thanks fellas, nice to hear that you like my work. I've been so inspired of all the projects here who does the concourse standard and all the buftys so I'm trying to do some myself. Way to far yet but hoping to do some major changes during winter
Yep, you've heard right. When all taxes was paid and the car was ready to drive legaly on road it cost me about 140.000 NOK which is about 14000 GBP or 17500 euro. The car itself only cost me 10000 euro.

The car is now parked for the winter and I could finally begin with my underbody restoration. The plan is to get everyting blasted and powder coated, fit new bushings (except the spherical ones in the trailing arms), Gaz coilovers, mc2racing diff mount, new brake discs and pads, Goodridge brake lines etc. All bolts, washers and nuts is also going to be changed for new ones. Calipers and brackets was sent to Bigg Red yesterday for remanufacturing. Here is what I've done so far.
Beam finally down, it obviously needs a good clean I guess.
The donut bushes are going to be replaced by yellow powerflex ones.
Some various pics.
Diff finally free from the beam, looks a bit tired though.
Beam.
Driveshafts.
A pic of the spherical bearings in the trailing arms which I need to get out because of the powder coating. Let's hope they come out in one piece as I heard they are pretty expensive from Ford.
Really looking forward to see all the parts blasted and powder coated.
Quick clean of driveshaft bolts and link washers. Anyone knows what kind of blue colour that is close to these?
Overview of some parts I've taken of the car.
Pretty empty under here now...
The fuel cradle who will be exchanged for a brand new one. Going to mount new pump, filter etc. also.
Anyone knows if inner arches is still available at Ford? Or maby I just need to give my old ones a good clean.
Front.
Looking forward to see the car on it's wheels again, whenever that might be...
Last weekend I began to disassemble the parts. Here is the driveshafts.
Bearing houses.
Wheel bearing mess. I've thinking of buying SKF bearings from Graham Goode, is that a good choice or is it better with the original ones?
A picture of the calipers and brackets before they were sent to Bigg Red.
Front hubs.
New brake pipes and connector is going to be fitted also.
Yesterday I began to clean the underbody a bit, I'm pleased with the result after two hours actually. Sorry for the bad pic quality.
I've been thinking of getting my Mongoose exhaust polished also, does anyone know what kind of polish I should use? Next thing is to get the fuel tank and cradle down. I just can't let those parts stay old and rusty while the rest of the back is cleaned

Thanks people, nice to hear that you like my work. It makes me stay positive and continuing the work. I wonder how far I'm going with this restoration, god knows where it will end though.
Cheers Since you are from Belgium I guess you maby know Jack (JP Cars)?
@JHS: Oh yes, you bet I thought that maby Autosol would do the trick so I'll give it a try then.

Thanks mate, I'm doing the best I can so hopefully it will turn out good.
Cool. I went at his place in May this year to take a look at the car that I bought. Sure I miss the look of all his cossies. A great guy do deal with, no doubt!
More pics and info will follow as soon there is some progress on the car, don't you worry

I actually just use regular degreasing from 'Biltema' (big and known motor warehouse in Scandinavia). It dissolve asphalt, oil and salt pretty efficient.
Let's not talk about the price for the rad, lol. It cost me appr. 3500 NOK which is about Ł320 according to today's currency.

My mate is just in the process of doing a full resto on his and its amazing how many clips and parts Ford can still supply!!
Its usually the stuff which is more common they can't get hold of or its discontinuedthey really should take BMW's attitude and stock it all!!

Finally, after four hours I managed to get out the fuel tank today. Hmm, but what took you so long? Guess! The god damn bolts of course, they didn't come off. So after many tries with a lot of different tools the last option was the angle grinder (hope that's the correct word for it). Guess how scared I was with the grinder so close the fuel tank, praise the lord that it went good.
I think I'll buy a new tank but I've heard that the tank strap fits bad on the aftermarket tanks, is that right?
Not bad for it's age though.
Cradle, who is going to be replaced by a new one with new pump, filter and hose.
Now it's empty under here also

I got the tank from Beevers Auto Panels but it's not a genuine one. People seem worried about cheap aftermarket ones which don't have the collector inside. This one was only Ł55 inc VAT and it has the metal collector pot inside, so as far as I can tell it's ok!!!
(Just gotta make sure it's the F60C item with the smaller 50mm sender hole!!! )

Great, many thanks for the info and pictures Have looked at some aftermarket tanks here in Norway today but none of them got the collector inside. Btw, have you used the original tank strap from Ford? I read somewhere that they didn't fit so good on aftermarket thanks.
I've been thinking of painting the underbody white but is there some other good solutions except from spraying the color base on? I don't have the tools or options for spraying so it would be great if some other things might work as well.

Cheers Marco I was at Ford today and the tank costs appr. the same as shown in Microcat so I'll go for a aftermarket one I guess.
Thanks to James (bigjim172000) I got a full set of clips to the inner arches today. All four wings were also available at Ford so they are ordered as well
