Managed to get a few more bits done over the last few days, the welding that needed doing to the bulkhead and tunnel is almost done now and will hopefully be done tommorrow night,i got my steering column made from an escort top half and sierra bottom half as im using an escort peddle box and column surround so it all looks standard, the only welding that will be left then is the rear end of the sills, bottom back end of the rear 1/4s and one of the rear arches has roted away aswell so got to take the kit off to weld that up aswell,i will try to get a few pics for me over the weekend and then get them up aswell

Got a few more bits done over the last few weeks, ive got the carpet cut about and in place, because of the tunnel i couldnt use the original inner seat mounts so i had to modify them to fit so ive managed to get both sides modified and fitted,i had to cut the bulkhead a bit more so i could fit the heater box and blower aswell, the steering link from the column to the rack is done aswell, wiring loom is in aswell along with the seperate looms for electric windows, mirrors, central locking and heated front screen
i had to modify the loom for the extras as the loom im using is a basic loom so didnt have anything extra on it atall, ive also changed the dash plugs for my astra gte digital dash, ive been modifying the front bumper a little bit aswell as i wanted something a bit different but subtle aswell so thats coming along quite well,my favourite part that ive done so far is my cold air intake pipe for the turbo,as space under the bonnet is going to be quite tight once its all complete i think the engine bay will get quite hot so i had an idea to move the air filter,i made the pipe from bits of old rst exhaust that i had laying around so its 2 1/2 inch pipe all the way from the filter to the turbo, the airfilter now sits in front of the intercooler in the top mouth of the bumper,as the car isnt going to get used to much in bad weather it should be ok,i will get a few pics up soon

![](http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y22/jonesymk2/IMG_0345.jpg)
ive also sat the block and head in place so i can mock up a few bits and work out where everything will eventually go
![](http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y22/jonesymk2/IMG_0346.jpg)
once the engine was in place i had the idea to mount the air filter in front of the intercooler so i used some old exhaust pipe i had laying around from an erst and cut it about to get from the turbo to the front of the cooler

as you can see the engine and gearbox are al in,wiring is in aswell but i just need to extend a few sections for everything to be in the correct places,im als making my own exhaust aswell as space is so tight so a cossie downpipe wont fit,the exhaust will be 3inch pipe all the way through and will finish with the big side exit pipe, ive got to get it running and driving so my mates can paint it for me then i can get it finished in the next couple of months and then start enjoying it
