the plan is to get all the car together and finished except for the engine, then once ive found a job i can get on with getting the engine built that way i can just drop the engine in once its complete,im aiming to have it on the road and complete(ish) for central day next year,if its run in and setup i might even take it up the strip aswell and hope the gearbox doesnt crap itself lol

Its definately looking good jonesy!
just a couple things, i`m not 100% sure but think the focus st170 alloys are ET52 offset if that helps, don`t take my word on this tho, and for the gearbox.. any chance you could just drop a borg box in from a 2wd cos, i`m sure some1 once said it will take more before![SHTF](https://passionford.com/forum/images/smilies/shtf.gif)
looks like you have a nice bit of room for a massive intercooler in the front there now
keep up the good work.

as some people will have spotted a few of my posts im looking at converting to a skyline gearbox so im now selling my 4x4 gearbox, the reason is that if i want to up the power at a later date im going to have to be carefull with the gearbox as they are at the limit up to about 400bhp,i thought about going rwd after seeing the video of the oddkid creations s1,trouble is i was going 4wd as i love the way a 4wd cossie launches off the line
the solution was to go with a skyline gearbox, the early r32 upto r33 gearboxes run a pump for the centre diff so with the correct pieces they can be made to run switchable 2wd to 4wd without damaging the centre diff,it will take me a little longer due to job circumstances at the minute but will be worth it in the long run
the way ive been looking at it is that if i go with this option i will never really get to the power where the box will be on its limit, this way i will have a strong gearbox and once the modification is done its a money saver as if i ever had a cossie gearbox go i would obviously have to replace it so would already be on par with the cost of the skyline conversion
another reason im doing this conversion now rather than later when i up the power a bit is cause ive still got work and welding to do to the transmission tunnel, also as i need to get a rear prop made up it will save me having to spend more money on another prop, this way i can do all the work needed then paint it and do the other bits to fit to the tunnel rather than get everything finished then have to take it apart again and modify everything then finish it all over again, theres quite a bit of work involved but imo its a worthwile modification and will be another different aspect to the car

hoping for about 350bhp to start with but will up the power at a later date so at least if ive already got a strong gearbox i wont have to worry about it breaking at higher power

progress has been almost non existent on this due to a few personal things and also got layed off from work at the start of the year, ive managed to get hold of a good welder now so when i get some money i can get some gas and wire and then get going on it again,i managed to get hold of some .5mm pistons and a 4x4 fuel rail and regulator which turned up this morning

i already had the rods which i bought last year so put the pistons on them,i also bought a t35 turbo the other week from a mate

im having to put the skyline gearbox idea on the back burner for a while as i just want to get the car up and running now so im keeping my rebuilt cossie box, then when money allows or if i break the cossie box i will start buying the parts for the skyline conversion

little bit of an update as ive managed to get a bit done even though im not working and skint lol i will ask billy YUM to put a few pics up when he gets chance, ive now finished all the welding underneath and just got the bulkhead to finish welding to join up to the tunnel, ive also got a few patches to sort out at the back end of the sills and the bottom of the rear 1/4s aswell but thats just minor welding really, billy YUM has been helping me a fair bit so thanks to him for that, weve managed to clean all the areas underneath that needed welding then as billy was cleaning those up i started welding the metal in that we had cut from templates we made up,we then painted underneath with hammerite up to the point where theres still welding to be done,i also welded some plates to the front chassis legs in the engine bay to give the bay a smoother look, that has all been ground down and filler applied to places in the bay and its all rubbed down now and in spray primer, hopefully i will have the major welding finished next week so all that will be left will be the sills and 1/4s,ive currently got the block bolted in the bay with a head bolted on and wiring sat in place so i can mock up parts and drill mounting holes and figure out where parts are going to go so it makes it a bit easier when i come to put it all together properly, hopefully i will get billy to put some pics up tommorrow for me

yeh im finally getting quite a lot done on it now with a fair bit of help from my mate billy, got the front and rear suspension bolted on today as i think it doesnt have to come off again now,yeh gokart is quite nippy but have only had a little go on it as it twisted the chassis lol its a zx9r engine with an unrestricted aftermarket rear exhaust on it so between 140 and 150 bhp lol
