yeh ive thought of the petrol tank mate and im going to get one made up,im going to get it made to fit inbetween the rear chassis legs and between the rear panel and rear diff,it will probably be about 10 inches deep aswell so its not sitting below the line of the bottom of the rear bumper

sounds like a good idea mate would be a shame to scrap the van,the only tip really is to take your time when measuring everything up,also depends which way your thinking of doing the conversion aswell mate as putting the whole floor in i reckon would be quite a bit more involved, pop over at ford fair if you go and have a look round mine if you want if i get it there that is lol

cant you get the van put on a jig to get it straightened,i thought about doing mine the same as lockesRSparts but i would have to get the driveshafts shortened and i havnt really got the money for that or the other parts, shame you cant get to ford fair,im hoping i can get it there its going to be very close though

i ment just the front like lockesRSparts,i think what you have do with the rear is a good way so i might be doing that.i havent got much money at the momant, being self employed & ant much work about so could'nt afford the jig yet. i really wanted to go ford fair but my other sierra is of the road & just got back from holiday.

i got a small amount done over this weekend, was hoping to have got more done but should be able to catch up a bit tomorrow hopefully, picked up my gearbox friday after getting it rebuilt

started on the drivers side strut top mount, got the escort one cut out

got the sierra one cut to the right size and then welded it in place

i cut a plate to shape for strengthening the inside of the inner wing

got that welded in place,i have welded the plate to the inner wing

drivers side all done just needs the welding grinding down and tidying

started on the passenger side today, got the escort strut top mount cut out

cut another strengthening plate to shape ready for when the sierra strut top mount

got the sierra strut top mount cut to the shape i wanted

got that welded in place
then i welded the strengthening plate in the inner wing aswell

to be sure of having the car ready for ford fair ive got to get the chassis legs at least tacked in place by the time i finish tomorrow night

yeh keeping it looking exactly how it is mate, ive fiesta st wheels on the back at the moment and they sit literally just in from the outer edge of the rear arches, but when the suspension goes up the wheels will nearly clear the lip so i think i can get away with trimming about 5mm of the lips of the arches and the tyres should just clear,i will find out where the front wheels sit tomorrow as im staying in the garage till the front chassis legs are in place ,so i can bolt the front crossmember and suspension in place then and see if the wheels clear
