In preparation for Bedford on Saturday, it was time to do a few jobs, considering not touched it since parked it up after Brands back in November

Got the turbo back from CR Turbos, great service and competively priced

Decided to it water cooling to it as well....although its potentially more coolant leak sites, the added cooling should hopefully make the turbo last longer.

Fabricated an air deflector to sit between the top of radiator and the slam panel to close off the gap, as I saw water temps of around 106-108 at Brands.

Had a nice delivery of Fuchs Pro Race R off Opie Oils, again great service and unbeatable on price

Oil and filter change done (although fucking oil filter came off complete with modine retaining bolt ).

And finally standard 'sleeper' wheels back on for the journey up

I'll be there on Saturday, and I'm expecting lots of "what the hell is in that??" moments as cars like this pull past me with ease!

I admire the work that goes into the heavily modified cars.

After hearing about the Ka pretty much everyday since summer 2007, it was awesome to have a spin in it. Good work Rich. I especially liked the boot floor and the radiator airflow deflector

Took car to Bedford Autodrome for the Passionford/Ex Beds RSOC track day on Saturday.*
Met up with some friends at the on Friday evening *and popped next door for a cheeky Tex-Mex burger at Buddies American Diner

Had a mixed day that started off with a leaking oil return pipe before I'd even got back from noise testing*

A big hammer and a new gasket fixed it, and it was out on track we go..

only for it to blow some coolant out the header tank

Checked level and then Nash took out Jonny for a few laps...great to see it spiriting flames out as it went past the pits

However....

One split heater hose later

By now I was getting pissed off, but Loader came to the rescue with a spare hose(in yellow!) from his van

Then after checking everything over(so I thought) it was back out with the R888s on.....

But I'd forgot to tighten the header tank cap and had another coolant excursion!

Finally got it sorted and got a decent number of laps in..

Ended the day a little early when it spat the power steering belt off in front of Luke , so stuck it on trailer and left for home.

Got home eventually at 2300 after dropping car in storage.*

MK Motorsport is sorting me a new power steering pully/crank pulley set up and roll on the next day*

Great day with big thanks to Jacko, Nash, Loader and Co, Luke and Hev, and Chip for their help, advice, tools or general abuse

My heart sank when the smoke came out the back when i started the cool down, I was so relived it was just a water hose.

Just a idea but why dont you try that waterless coolant should stop it from pressurising up and spitting coolant out the tank.

I have'nt tried it by the way just been reading up on it and it sounds ideal!!!!

Awsome car by the way cant wait to see it go at some of the track days.
